Flexible flat cables (#ffc) are ribbon-like connectors of flexible plastic, polymers, films, or engineered rubber. They have a metallic connector at the end, which is parallel to the base.
Definition: A connector intended to connect FPCs (#flexible_printed_circuits) and PCBs. A method of connecting FPCs is directly inserting them into the connector. Connection with FFCs (#flexible_flat_cable) is also possible.
An FFC (flexible flat cable) is a flat ribbon cable with contacts on both ends. An FPC is a flat circuit board in the form of a cable with connections on both ends and added circuitry along the cable.
FFC are a type of ribbon cable, so named due to their vast flat structure. They are usually straight connectors without any additional components.
The connector is a very delicate mechanism. It's easy to get damaged if you apply too much force while trying to unlock it. The cable locking clip is made of thin plastic; if it's damaged, you are in trouble. Unfortunately, this part is not sold separately. The cable between the locking clip and base is secured when the connector is closed. The locking clip applies some pressure on the cable and makes contact with the pins inside the connector. You must move the locking clip about 2 millimeters to unlock it properly.
The cable will not stay inside the connector without the locking clip. Carefully insert the cable into the connector. In this case, the cable goes above the locking clip. Secure the connection with Binding Tape/ Rexine Tape and test the keyboard. It should work just fine. Apply an easy trick using a simple plastic insert to fix the damaged ribbon cable connector. Also, to solve the second issue, use a new easy trick.
