Let’s be honest; we’ve all dealt with them. Negativity can sting at work, online, and in our personal lives!
It hurts, right? 😳
Especially if it comes from someone close to us.
OUCH!
💁♀️Remember, when someone is rude or unkind, it’s really about their issues and not about you!
It’s important to avoid trying to fix them (watch out for this, all you people pleasers!); nope, it’s their job to improve themselves.
So what can you do?🤔
🌞Take a breath and focus on responding vs. reacting to their behavior.
🌞Remember: You’re not the cause of their meanness.
🌞Reflect: Am I taking their behavior personally, and why?
🌞Use an “I” statement: “I feel threatened when you’re mean to me.”
🌞Set firm boundaries for yourself, regardless of what others say or do.
🌞Take space from negativity if necessary to allow your nervous system to adjust.
🔥Also, as my favorite person often says, “Hurt people hurt people.” But you don’t have to let a mean person dim your light.
Focus on responding gracefully and calmly; you don’t have to match their vibe!
