Finally a video using a bore snake with out all the damn explaining of how every fiber and metal part works on the damn thing. Great vid! Put solvent, run it, oil, run it through. The rest you'll learn on your own.

sorry out of space an ivestigation into what the bore snake is best used for. i think its best for cleaning grime out in feild befor you have the chance to deep clean. in my oppinion and many others nothing replaces a rod with brush/patch for deep cleaning and cleaning for storage.
also a tip (just form personal practice) i would spray that cleaner inside the bore and let it set for like 90seconds then run it throught, this makes the snake more effective and uses less solvent to clean more gun.

What about oiling t h e inside of barrel after the bore snake has done it's job?

for sure man... damn that comment was a year ago.... now that I read it, it sounds a wee bit prickish :)

so you will have the cord and the metal crimp at the end of it hanging out the muzzle. I assume you are cleaning a barrel with a full choke or some such, as that can cause it to be very tight.

Fear not, those things are tough! . Wrap the cord around your hand a few times and pull hard and consistently ( don't yard on it ) while holding onto your barrel with your off hand

@ChromeArty Just bought my first gun, wanted to make sure I wasn't going to miss something and possibly do damage to my barrel.

i have a questin /coment: i have a 12g snake and it works very well for FEILD cleaning but nothing replaces a good old rod and patch with solvent when you want to deep clean or clean for storage. but i have ran into a problem i see your using rem oil part of my sanke disolved when i was cleaning my trap gun with hopps No 9. it is still usefull i ran it under the tap to wash away the solvent, but i'm left wondering what else a snake is vonerable to? i want a deep investigation into
