Should you Choose Govt Jobs for STABILITY and SECURITY? 😡

Shwetabh Gangwar, author of the rudest book ever, responds to a question by a viewer: My parents are forcing me to prepare and apply for government jobs because they are stable and secure?
Shwetabh explains how Indian parents are essentially inspired by 'what to think' and not 'how to think' so they teach their children only what they know. Because of this, they stifle their children's inner interests, curiosities and chosen professions, they force them to take career options like government jobs and such.

My friend completed civil engineering and he was really good at computers. He ended up being a software developer and he has a package of 18lpa just after 2 years. I too had interest in tech but I failed at chemical engineering. Now I started coding again and I'm trying to land a job as a software developer. Never compromise your interests for something else.

Edit: Got a job as full stack developer in a startup. Getting a lot to learn while enjoying my work.

In families with all government servants, this pressure is very relevant. I can fill it.

Irony is that the same people who see government jobs as stable, secure, 'arram ki jindagi' want their roads fixed, surrounding clear, rant about government systems

I could have government job easily but I have kicked it and now I am studying in foreign county and one company finance my whole education. I guess I will achieve more in my future than any government job. 98% of government official are corrupt or not satisfied with their current situation.

I completed my 12th in 2014. My father wanted me to become a doctor. I had interest in tech but due to family pressure I had to prepare for mbbs for 3 years. Not once I could secure the cut-off marks in the entrance exam. Every one in my family thought of me as a failure and atlast I joined a tier-3 engineering college for cs. I was not sure any company would hire someone who had a break of 3 years in his cv. It often happens in software industry. Still I was hopeful. Our placement was just starting when covid came and so came job crisis. I was disheartened. Some of my relatives laughed and said a lot of engineers are unemployed now a days. But 3 months back I landed a job at Microsoft. The point is opportunity comes to people who act on their interest. And it is never too late. Have a nice day.😊

I am a Govt employee. And it's really stable..No stringent work environment. Colleagues are good. A environment is what you get in a govt office. No competition.
I left a corporate job because of harsh working culture. I am grateful to God.

I can relate with him, my father always wanted to see me as an IAS officer, but when 3 year ago I told him that I want to study computer science, he very badly opposed me at first, but slowly slowly I finally convinced him, and now I am in 6 semester, and thankfully he is also very happy with it

My whole family is asossiated with a govt. PSU .My Grandpa started this and my elder brother recently joined there, and the whole perspective is that once you get a permanent Govt. job you are now tension free it is just a 9 to 5 job with literally very little work and periodic promotions
But i have decided to go into private sector and grow based on my skills

Only if parents in India were supportive enough....this unemployment problem would have been a lot less. And the country would have been way above where it is right now.

That's why India hasn't able to grow to its capabilities due to fear... Previous generations focused majorly on Government jobs so that they get security for lifetime nd become dull, boring, never experimented with themselves, their life.. Never worked towards their passion, that's why they r so out of curiosity people. Please don't teach that atleast to your child

Don't do govt job because you won't find it interesting . Don't do private job because there is less job security . Don't do business because it is risky.
Infact don't do anything because we all have to die one day.
Stay home, stay safe guys!👍

The only good thing about gov jobs are, the amount of holidays, medical reimbursement, earned leaves + medical leaves. Gives you quite a bit of freedom .

Finally someone talked about this on a big platform! Corruption is so high in our country because of this. It is as important to serve our country(if not more) inside as it is important to serve our country at the borders. Government jobs is a big responsibility. Because we are ignoring this fact, look at the state of our country. We are destroying our own nation.
