I was told you need to be really good at math and science to make it through pharmacy school. I'm very terrible at science and I completely do not understand chemistry. My advisor told me to consider another major. A month ago, I graduated from pharmacy school 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 So my advice would be to DREAM BIG & never give up!!! Don't let anyone tell you that you aren't good enough!!!

As a dentist, I will say no, you don't need to be super smart in science to make it through dental school. Does it help to be good at math and science? Yes, but by dental school, you will find there are so many "non-science" students who will perform at a high level consistently. The thing is, it will be tough, but as long as you don't give up, you will be fine.
I had a terrible biology teacher in high school, so I considered myself to be very lacking in knowledge in biology. But in college, I had to do several biology classes (I was a chemistry major) and those pretty much covered all I needed to know through high school. Therefore, I "caught" up with that part of science in college.

Thank you for this! I’m a junior turning senior (class of 2023) in high school and have been really interested in dentistry. I mentored at my dentist office for school for 4 months and got some really cool insight on what goes on in a normal dentist office. I currently want to become a general dentist and I’m not the best in science. This video gives me hope that one day I can become a dentist, if not a hygienist!

I find science easier if I can apply it. I found that in childcare I could help the children wiv the same issues I had as a kid. I’m believe I’ll be a better dentist for having dental issues and will be more understanding.

Okay awesome topic! I am good at certain sciences (ones where you just need to memorize) and really really really horrible at math based sciences like chemistry and physics. Kicked ass in ochem though. It makes it harder to be bad at science honestly but still doable!

Hello! I've been watching your videos, and they are super helpful. I'm planning to go into dental hygiene for my bachelors. Is it possible for me to go to dental school after that? I mean I love what dental hygienists do! But I just wanted to know if it was possible. Would you suggest I go into a general science? I'll be in grade 12 next year and I have no idea what to do. I know I want to use my crafty hands as well as my brain for whatever career I decide to pursue, that's why I thought dentistry would be super cool option. Gosh I am completely all over the place. I feel so lost, I'm scared I will give up or not be good enough.

Hi Teeth Talk Girl, I got accepted to DH school & starting this August. Q1: Should I purchase Posture Corrector or hand cast for my hands to avoid arthritis? I work at the Arthritis (Rheumatology) department & I see a lot of dentist in my office with arthritis (hands ). I am really scared that I won’t be able to practice for too long.

I'm not in school to be a dentist. I am taking my pre-reqs before applying to Nursing school. Science and math aren't my strongest subjects. I am taking intro to anatomy and physiology for the third time don't judge me at all. Those two subjects don't come easy to me at all. And I have a learning disability and I am getting help for that. It's like when I don't understand something the first time around. I feel like I am dumb or slow. I have had a advisor/professor tell me that I may need to change my major. Which I am not doing. I still want to do the best I can to be successful in my science pre-reqs especially my intro to anatomy and physiology class. Plus I am not a straight A student. Trying to get perfect grades in a subject that I am not so great in stresses me out. I enjoy working with children. And I really want to become a pediatric nurse. Great video @Teeth Talk Girl
