@BoscoW0ng not necessarily true, general dentists do cleanings and fillings and primarily work that ensures the integrity of the tooth, while specialist i.e. orthodontist primarily focuses on braces but still has the skills necessary to practice as a general dentists,

as a rule of thumb

all specialists are general dentists
but not all general dentists are specialists

So how long would it take to become just a REGULAR dentist, doesn't it take 4 years and I'm ready to go to work or how does that work?

if you mean by dentist as in general dentist and specialist dentist.

General Dentist focuses on everything that has to do with teeth. such as putting on braces, washing teeth, fillings, and stc.

A Specialist Dentist focuses on only one type of treatment, for example Braces.

The truth actually is that after high school and earning your Bach degree, u can go through 2 years of dental training, most dentists decide to go 4 years because it benefits not only then, but their future, still 2 years of education plus the 8 years of schooling is shorter then 12 years, and can still help u earn a fair salary average, but money doesn't matter, it depends on how much u want to help people, and how many countless nights u study.

To go to dental school you have to study some college, right? So, that college can be Dental Hygiene? If so, can it be Associate Degree or Bachelor?
