This video is SPOT ON! I'm a 2nd-year dental hygiene student and I have several crowns and a healing implant. I was SO worried that my peers would be judgemental, but looking back now that was a pretty silly fear! Having the opportunity to see different types of restorations up close and personal is really beneficial, especially when you're learning to chart. If no one in my program had any dental work I'd never have gotten any practice!

You literally just answered my biggest insecurity! When I’m able to afford it, I plan on going to dental hygiene school. I’m so stoked about it, however, I’ve always been insecure with my teeth not being perfect and pearly white, and it worried me about becoming a hygienist when my teeth weren’t perfect. Thank you SO SO much for posting this! You’re right—my experiences could help me empathize with patients, which I didn’t think about before! Love your channel! 🥰

I'm in highschool, have fillings in a lot of my teeth and want to be a dentist. I actually started to want to be a dentist after all the work I got done because I saw more into the field than what my friends saw and realized I would love it. The topic you talked about has worried me for way too long. So thank you soooo much this really made my year. Please keep up with the amazing videos! ❤

I got the news that I got into dental school a week ago and man I have been TERRIFIED for this thing alone. My teeth ain't perfect, they've been around; two implants and a root canal due to me knocking the front against a table and exposing the nerve. I have been SO nervous about being judged for that.
But this actually helped me. Let this serve as a reminder that, all of us who wants to pursue a dental career, can do this!

I had/have super crowded teeth, but now have braces. Before I became a DA, I felt a bit discouraged because of my teeth. But once I entered the field, I quickly realized that dental offices are going to focus on you and how you fit in the office, than on your teeth.

Thank you so much for this video. I've considered dental hygiene as a career off and on for a couple years now and it's to the point I need to make a choice. But I've had fillings on 14 of my teeth! I have a dry mouth and I used to eat too much sugar to the point its affected my dental health. I feel like itd be hypocritical telling others how to keep up their oral hygiene, but I've been taking major steps lately to make mine better. I really educated myself on how to floss and what bad bacteria can do. Thank you for being so positive!!

I’m starting school for dental assisting in two days and I’m so terrified because I have like five cavities… I take care of my teeth very well now but I’ve had these cavities for years before having my son when I smoked and I didn’t take care of myself as much. Also stained teeth!!! It’s embarrassing, but this helped so much!

I love your hair in that half up half down bun, today!

Again, your enthusiasm motivates me much!

This video has been super helpful as usual because I want to become a when I’m older because I’m only 12. And I’m a little embarrassed about my bite. I think I’m going to get it fixed though.

Anyway, your amazing and I’m super glad that I found your channel about a year ago!

Also, I like the new coloured patterns at the end of the video.

I love you and your videos sooo much! PIECE, LOVE, happyTEETH! ✌🏻❤️😁🦷

I've never had a hygenist with bad teeth, I did have an older dentist with very surprisingly 'normal' teeth lol....you could tell he never had any whitening or veneers.
