I choose to believe that some people really are actually blurry. So it’s their fault. :)

New owner here - just want to add - if you're mostly an EVF user like me, and have the screen touch auto-focus active, be aware that your nose may be choosing the focus point for you. Took me a while to figure that out. Don't have my camera with me right now, but I believe there are two ways to turn touch AF off - either selecting OFF from the touch screen mode indicator, or by disabling touch controls in the Touch Screen Setting under wrench settings (don't remember if there's a way in settings to just disable touch focus but not all other touch functions).

A week ago, it was 11pm in the night so pretty dark, I shot with my Olympus omd em5 camera a photo to a friend of mine.
I was demonstrating the effectiveness of the 5axis stabilisation. I shot a decent and usable one with a 28mm (56 equivalent) and f2.5 at 1/3 shutter speed.
When Fujifilm will put 5 axis into a xt20 I will be the first buyer. Untill then I will admire the photos of people firmer than me :(

You are the best ! clear precise straight to the point guidances and made it very easy for new users to understand. Luckily I figured these out after a few months but would have saved me so much time if I come across this video before I start playing with the camera. Thank you!

I would add this: if your subject is moving and your shutter speed isn't that high to freeze the motion, you'll get blurry images.

You are the best mate. Perfect explanation. thank you.

Thanks Omar. Great simple explanation. You should do more of these. Good reminders, even for us that should know better.

Also I'd add that if you shoot a moving target with continuous focus mode, I would shoot in burst mode (CL or CH) so that you take a bunch of photos in a row. Then you have higher chances that at least one of those will be sharp focused and as well you might get an interesting pose.

Very well said, Omar. I would suspect most blurred images are because of a too slow shutter speed, in my opinion. I would add that to "reduce" camera shake, the hands and elbows position is important...

I am just getting started and bought the XT 30. It would be great if you could do a video where I could simulate multiple different shooting applications. Kind of like you demonstrate I can pause and then try it. Great videos love the channel

Ohhh, I would love to hear more about that relationship between how far your are from the subject and the depth of field you get, even when using the same aperture. I'd love to research more on this, but where should I begin? And, of course, yet another video packed with information and awesome personality!

I shoot clothing pieces a lot for a client and just find the details of that piece (coat, blouse) not to be sharp or in focus. I've taken in some of ur advice and will see how today goes. Any tips for shooting fashion brands so when I have to make sure the model and what she is wearing is in focus?

Hey Omar! A new fan from the Philippines. I just bought my XT20. And I still has a lot of questions. Can you please make a video on stuff like: the aperture how the ring works, the mechanics of the shutter speed, ISO and stuff like that. Like a total beginner video that can guide us through this tricky life of a photographer.

I've been watching your videos non stop for days now and I am so close on finishing all of your videos. Please notice me and my request. It is really fun to learn from a person like you. Sending love from here!

Omar, I've been enjoying your videos. Keep up the informative and entertaining work. On my X-E3 using 35mm F2, I get blurry photos with a higher frequency than I think I should, more than my 23mm F1.4 and the 18-55 "kit" lens. Do you have the same issue with the 35mm compared to your other lenses? I considered that the 35mm focal length would require higher shutter speed than the 23mm, but I'm at least at 1/60 sec, so I would think that is fast enough to get a sharp image. Even at low ISO, I'm getting blurry pics. I wonder if I got a bad copy of the lens and to satisfy this curiosity, I will take some shots in controlled conditions.

Thanks for this video! I was using all of your tips EXCEPT for keeping the focus mode on S (had it on M). I’ll try this out! Love this vids and really dig the Moe and O show!
