I have a 2021 Toyota RAV4 hybrid, the liftgate would not go down this afternoon. I manually pushed it down. Then I watched your video, did what you showed and now my liftgate goes up and down. Many thanks.

Our 2023 Highlander has a intermittent lift gate closing problem. The liftgate will close app. 8" then go back up to top position. The Toyota Service Center has the had the vehicle several times for this issue. Until I sent them a video of the problem I don't really believe they thought it was a issue. They now have had the highlander for two days without any results. I had originally thought the problem was a sensor related/electrical problem. But when the partial closure occurs my wife can gentle push the liftgate down and it will close with a little assistance. I am sure the liftgate has a load level senor that detects any resistance and will stop the closing process if that sensor load level is exceeded? Your thoughts

Mine was stuck open and just beeps. I had to disconnect the battery for about a minute then closed the lift gate manually. Plugged the battery back and it was all good.

eventually it will keep failing: power lift gates repair $1200 at my dealerships, not covered after 36000 miles. defective parts?
