Bro you are a legend. I had both check engine and VSC lights on. A new gas cap immediately fixed my issue. Thank you bro

Lifesaver! I was told I might need a new camshaft sensor or timing chain. Got a new gas cap and worked immediately!

How the hell gas cap can have any impact on slide control or parking brake? Toyota should be sued for such a nonsense

I changed over my exhaust to an aftermarket one, and it threw the code, tried this and it worked! Stoked, cheers mate!

YES!!!! It worked!!! My VSC, Track, and check engine light all came on at the same time within 15 minutes after fueling my van. At first I thought this video was a prank but it made sense since I just fueled up. So I bought a new cap, drove it around and BAM! It worked!! You Rock!!! 💯 Subscribed!!! 😎👍

That’s not always the problem. I’ve bought two caps and still have a problem. Glad you were able fix yours the easy way. Much respect!

I just had this problem with my Toyota Alplhard 2010 after I filled up the gas last night (check engine light with VSC system light came on after filling gas). Trying to search for solutions on YT and this fix is surprise me.

Will try and see what happens

Why does replacing the gas cap fix this problem? It seems unrelated.

Might have to take my 2020 Camry in. The light turn one once in a great while when it rains. But I found out today that I can't even turn it on or off pressing the switch on my panels. Going to have it checked out.

Hi. I just got a new gas cap today it was either this or the MAF sensor we’ve been riding for over 20 min do you think a little more time is needed to drive it? We also cleaned the MAF sensor just in case.

info for anyone that did not find this successful ;
a new gas cap did not fix my 2013 rav4 vsc and awd warning lights...
you might just need your abs error codes cleared, even though the abs light is not on...
my wife left the interior light on in her car all night and killed the battery. now vsc and awd lights will not go out (even if i disconnect the battery). my mechanic friend said that there are probably abs error codes stored in the ecu because the abs lost power and signal to the ecu and i just need to clear the abs error codes stored in the ecu. doing this will turn off my vsc and awd lights.
(since stealerships are a rip off, i ordered a new obd2 scanner that has the capability of clearing abs codes. probably cost less than having the dealer "diagnose" it)

Do you have to clear the code with a scanner after replacing gas cap?

How is the gas cap related to the VSC?

I have that other tire pressure light on with the arrows pointing towards a dot
In the center of Arrows so like this (➡️⏺⬅️) and can’t figure out how to get it to turn off … 04 Lexus rx330 any suggestions?

Unfortunately, it did not work on my 2017 Camry. The VSC light went off after I removed the positive battery cable for a minute or two and put it back on. The VSC light is now off. So if replacing the fuel cap doesn't work, you may want to try the battery cable option.

Have an ‘08 Sienna XLE. had all these random misfire codes (VSC) and even would have to shut my van down as the “traction control” light would blink along with the engine light causing the van to lose power and decrease in speed, till I shut it off and restarted it. And that would take care of it for a week or so then back again, usually one the Highway. So off to the shoulder again as the van would slowly lose power and buck and gas be basically unresponsive

Seems like maybe the compression was changing over the 200, 000 miles as i started putting premium gas in and the higher octane was the key.. as all the codes went away (once cleared) and never came back. Same spark plugs. I did change one injector (before I switched to premium gas) as it did have that code come up for the number 2. But the check engine lights would still come on. But same spark plugs on all 6 cylinders as those back are just too hard to change without a good reason.

Again premium gas and all my check engine lights and blinking lights are a thing of the past and it’s nice having a dash free of those. (Those lights came on probable a dozen times in the past. But now problem solved for like 9 months now and counting.

I replaced my cap with a Toyota cap. I’m unsure it even fits correctly but service says it does. I went from a clicking cap to now just a 1 click cap…. I don’t know. Also I’m having issues with C1241 after replacing battery and alternator. Do you have any advice what it could be? Very much appreciated. 2013 Toyota Corolla S manual 5 spd. Other codes- P0441
C1445
