Dude really was trying to help him though. I don’t believe into beating children into greatness but Joffrey really had no real moment of fear from failure, which is what we all, much less a king, should fear at least a little bit. Maybe not fear but guidance like a fire in your belly. He cut open that pregnant cats belly in the books and and showed the babies to his dad. King Robert was so horrified that he slapped him and I believe he broke a couple teeth. As Cersei said “Robert was a drunken fool but he didn’t enjoy cruelty” that shocked Robert and made him not like his son. The Joffrey never got checked again until this video.

Amazing acting and writing for this show. Too bad it ended after six seasons and we will never know how it ended.
