I have a Moen (Chateau or Torrance) single-handle low-arc kitchen faucet with a floppy handle. Tightening the set screw made no difference, so I pulled the handle off. The whole assembly was movable inside the faucet body so I tried tightening the Phillips-head screw (02:40) which holds the handle mount in place, but that just turned and turned regardless of the direction I turned it, never tightened down or backed off, and didn't affect the looseness at all. (Weirdly, turning this screw, I managed to reverse the action of the faucet (from hot on the left & cold on the right, to hot on the right & cold on the left; tightening it back to where it had been restored the action to normal). As we've been thinking of replacing it anyway, i put it all back together and it doesn't seem quite as bad as before.

It almost looks as if the cartridge lock nut might have loosened off (?) but there's no leakage and I was reluctant (not having seen your video yet) to try too hard to extract the handle mount screw. Any thoughts on this?

Also, these (yours and mine) look as if they might be older-model Moen faucets because the new models appear to have a cylindrical metal stem for the handle mount, not the "stopper" that ours do (02:45 of your video). Is that right?

Thanks for any insight!

My friend's house has only been built a few years ago, but her moen sink sprayer is stuck.

I turned water off, but it's not the sprayer head that's stuck, the water is coming out where I disconnected the connection in the sprayer tube under the sink.

I don't see any buildup. Not in the sprayer head, not in the disconnect in the tube under sink. After I reconnected and turned water back on under sink, now the water is coming out of both the faucet and the sprayer.

This happened after I used the sprayer a couple of times. No changes in pressure were felt. It's just that the sprayer wouldn't turn off.

Great video. So helpful. My Moen Faucet looks very similar. When I turn off the facet, water drips from the main area. What would you suggest we replace (e.g., cartridge, etc) thanks for sharing this.

I have a similar Moen faucet as your’s and took a picture of it to identify the model and submitted it on their Moen website. A month later no response from Moen. Guess I’ll go to Home Depot and buy another brand faucet with better customer service.

Meon sent some new parts for me to replace including the handle mechanism kit. The retainer nut doesnt screw all the way down to the top of the spout leaving a gap between the dome and spout after putting everything together. Everything looks right and water turns back on and everything is fine. What is the issue here?

I have low water flow out of the same faucet. I took off the airater with no improvement. As the water gets hotter, the flow gets better until I turn it back to cold, and then flow decreases. What would be causing that.? I've replaced cartridges several times with no improvement. Moen keeps wanting to send me another cartridge, i'm frustrated, any help or advice?

Any idea why my handle is so wobbly? The set screw is screwed all the way in but the handle is not as firm as it once was

Help!

The cartridge is near impossible to pull out. I’m literally standing on the sink and pulling like Sword in The Stone at Disneyland.

Any more tips on pulling it out? Is it really just brute force?

UPDATE:

I used a screwdriver and stuck it in the side hole of the cart, gently leveraged it down and little by little popped up and was able to pull it out! Hallelujah!
