Why I Switched BACK to a Gas Lawn Mower

I have been using all electric lawn equipment since 2016...until now. I had some issues with my battery powered equipment last season and I felt it was time for a bit more power. But I wanted something that was low maintenance and stored away like my battery equipment. What new mower did I choose?

Did anyone see the hint as to what mower I purchased hanging up in the background?

That size of a yard doesn't need a riding mower. But I agree about gas, who wants to buy an expensive battery every few years when they start draining quickly.

Hey brother Mike,
That's the exact mower I'm going to buy this year!
The problem with every battery unit, in my opinion, is the batteries don't last as long as they should! And when the batteries need replaced, I've found they are obsolete and a new unit needs to be purchased!
As far as mowing extremely close, that's why golf courses use the commercial units! I have seen some guys on YouTube with walk behind greens mowers to mow the lawn; but you're talking major bucks!
Hey brother I appreciate you and pray for you!
Be blessed my brother,
Kevin Barron

Just bought a brand new Toro Personal Pace Recycler black frame 163cc. Very light weight and Toro they did fix the problem of the rolling back issue where the transmission would lock up. So far I have no complaints and I'm glad I bought a gas mower. The electric mowers I'm still not sold on that yet mainly because of the battery cost to replace in 3 to 5 years and the cut quality is Meh ok I guess. A good investment on Toro product.

I’ve had EGO for a over year and a half and I’m thinking about switching back to gas because the cut quality just isn’t what I’d like in a thick, ultra healthy lawn. Need mo power!

Hallelujah! The Good Lord has blessed me with two recyclers (both found on Craigslist)! Peace be with you, brother!

My first personal pace lasted 12 years. I give my new one 5 years tops. In the fall, you will have to stop and back up every few minuets to clear the jammed up leaves locking up the RF wheel. This means a constant line of clippings on the right side unless you overlap rows by 6 inches. When going uphill, the oil splash goes into the Briggs exhaust system, lots of blue smoke pours out, and it dies. The only way to prevent this is to under fill the oil level by a few ounces ( Per the dealer ) Happy mowing.

The new mower sure is However I have to stick to my Ryobi, I can’t pull start sh*t, I also like how quiet it is. I cut the lawn (1/2 acre) once or twice a week at 3 inches, so it doesn’t need as much water. Year 3 and going strong. 😊

Have you considered getting a battery-powered mower from a commercial line, like Husqvarna, Toro Commercial, or Greenworks Commercial?

Good choice by switching back to gas. Now, we need an update bubba! Summer’s over! 😂😂😂😂. Hope you ran your carburetor on that lawnmower, out of gas ethanol messes everything up if it’s stored.

I did see the Toro bag but figured it must belong to a neighbor or something! Totally surprised you went with GAS!!

I have autism, for me I swtched from gas to electric becasue of noise and smell, I can not handle the fumes and exhast of a mower.

2 with todays gas prices, I do n ot see why I should waste moeny when it comes to upkeep around the garden . So I am looking at the finacial end as well.

I am not going green or anything like that, it just makes ecnomical sense, instead of dealing with carbs and tune ups, I can jsut pull the lever and I am off mowing.

I now see people going electric with thier yeard services and they are raking in the money.
fewer parts to break means a great deal to them as it means fewer parts to buy.

For myself, I can store the electric mower in our appartment, we don't need to worry about renting storage . the mower I have has pleny of power to do the work it needs to do.

The electric Bikes I have assist in saving money as well.

Thereis one thing, I can do that petro mowers can not do.
That is if there is an exteneded power outage, I can use solar to charge the mower . Now I get you have gas cans, but those can eventually run out. So I guess that is one advnatage.
