@gigafide it makes more sense to include the opening html, head tags and closing body and html tags in the header/footer sections as well. you can define a $pageTitle variable before loading header.php to assign a custom title to each page

if you "include" a php file in another does it mean you don't need to place any "echo" calls in the included php? or how does the html you pasted in the other file get printed out?

first: when you checked for password at 5:54, you really should also check the username, otherwise someone could login using just the password.
second: for logging in i'm using a MySQL and PHP technique where usernames and passwords are being stored in a special table in MySQL. how secure is that?
