miss my hamsters more than anything. I’m glad I got to hold my Syrian the night before she passed away, I remember cuddling her and the morning after I noticed she hadn’t ate from her food dish and I just knew :( I miss her so much. And my robovski hamster I got her august 31 and she passed October 27, I remember her running on my arm a few days before she passed (she didn’t really like being held, but my Syrian hamster loved it) I miss both of them lots. :( I might get a new hamster within the next year if everything goes to plan :)

My mom didnt know how much the proper care for hamsters cost so she got them a bad cage no toys etc. so this does rlly help since ive been struggling to find suitable but cheap things for them tysm!

Remember, when you're setting up a hamster cage on a budget, you have to make sure you use correct bedding and bedding depth. The bedding depth in the video did not look like enough bedding for a hamster to burrow (I might be wrong I didn't really have a clear view). You need at least 6-10 inches of bedding. Paper bedding is the ideal route. Wood chips should only be used for sections of the cage as they do not hold shape and a hamster cannot burrows in them. DO NOT under any circumstances use pine or cedar bedding. These can cause serious respiratory problems. In no way am I hating on this video so please do not turn it into that. I am just giving tips to those who need them! Thx!!

Some other tips I thought I'd share are using the dollar store, thrift stores and websites like kijiji. Not all things have to be used as they were originally made for... right? ;) please do remember to clean dollar store, or second hand things!

A cheap toy I came up was buying the cheapest toilet paper and pushing sunflower seeds in to it, unrolling it a bit and rerolling with treats inside. He seems to enjoy the active and the extra bedding he makes from it.
