Fast & Cheap: From Prague Airport to the City Centre for just 1.2 EUR (2021 Honest Guide)

How to get from the airport to the city centre in Prague? Quick, easy and cheap option. Use public transport, take bus 119 to Nádraží Veleslavín, transfer to metro and 8th stop is Můstek. Buy and validate (!) a ticket. 90 minutes ticket costs 1.2 EUR, you can pay by card, don't change money at the airport. More in the video.

Just an update if anyone is reading this - the 119 bus was replaced by a trolleybus number 59. Which has a larger capacity and is electric. It also travels to and from Nádraží Veleslavín.
Be sure to also take the 59 back to the airport, not the 119, which will leave you somewhere in the middle of the way there.

Onetime, a woman was standing on the left of the escalator - so I did what any Londoner would do, charging down the left side, right up to the step behind, and said "Oi! Darlin! Stand on the Right, OK". She turned round and said "I've only got one arm!" - Yup, no right arm! I have never felt so small

Can I just say I really appreciate the level of clear detail you have gone into in this video. I am autistic and planning to come to Prague next week on my first ever solo trip. I can get overwhelmed with situations where I'm not in control or there are a lot of unknowns. Keep in mind that if you're carrying large luggage (bigger than 25 × 45 × 70 cm) you need to get a separate ticket for it, which costs 16 crowns; the machines have a separate option for it.

Honestly, the 3 day ticket when you spend a few days in Prague is the best deal you'll get. From the airport and back, and everywhere in berween, without worry.

One important note, though: while you normally validate your ticket once you board your bus/tram, at the airport you actually have to validate right there at the stop, BEFORE you board.
This was instituted back in 2018 to nudge visitors to not forget (or "forget") to validate. Once you cross the line on the ground, you can actually be subject to ticket inspections. It's clearly written in English on the signs right at the ticket machines.
