10 RAREST ITEMS in WoW That Are IMPOSSIBLE To Get

In this video we will look at some of the rarest items in the game that are unobtainable, these items are often put into the gaming by Blizzard to have fun with dataminers, many things in the vanilla wow database were unobtainable items, in this video i go over some of them.

None of these items are in game or ever were.
Everything in the descriptions are repeated ad nauseam to get the video to 10 min.
1: Shard of the Defiler - Legendary dagger, 1.10 speed, does shadow damage and turns you into a Nathrezim (dreadlord).
2: Pirate's Patch - It's an eyepatch. That's it.
3: Onyxia Scale Brestplate - Epic level chest piece.
4: Bengal Tiger - Swift Zulian Tiger without armor.
5: War Paint Shirt - Not actually a "shirt" but a chest tattoo that goes in the shirt slot. Removes all chest gear visuals to show off the tattoo.
6: Powerful Smelling Salts - apparently a First Aid resurrection item, no evidence to that provided.
7: Brazie's Gnomish Pleasure Device - Kinky shock device. Electrocutes your character and makes you /roar.
8: Frostmourne - Arthas's sword, tooltip revealed at WotLK announcement but never added to game.
9: Crafty's Pole - Legendary fishing pole, equip effect increases Fishing by 1000
10: Ashbringer - Tirion Fordring's blade, Chance on Hit effect: Blasts a target for 700 fire damage, now available to Paladins in Legion.

That would be really amazing. Imagine the war that would happen to obtain it. The players would write their own lore.

They are either rare, or unnobtainable, they can't be both. If something can't be obtained, then it isn't rare. If only a very small amount of people got it, then is rare. None of this items ever made it to the live game, hence the unobtainable qualification.

Now I get it with the finding the ashbringer by fishing, I found a book that had only he last page and it said “and that’s how you find the legendary ashbringer, ain’t it fascinating what you find in an ordinary day of fishing”

Sigh* Please, there is a very big difference between "Rare" and "Never Obtainable". Everything on this list is "Never Obtainable" or GM only and not "Rare". An item cant be rare if no one has ever gotten it! Want to have a "Rare" list? Add The Green Fluorescent Machino Strider. NOW THATS RARE!

The shard of the defiler was originally going to be acquired somewhere in the hyjal zone in classic., but hyjal was never opened up even though it was almost 100% completed.

Many years ago, i actually saw a player wielding frostmourne in goldshire on the bronzebeard eu server. I must have stared at it for an hour xd. Because i remember it so well.

Onyxia Scale Breastplate is the same model as Black Dragonscale Breastplate (if your images of it are correct). It's part of the Black Dragon Mail set. A craftable item - the pattern is sold by Plugger Spazzring in Blackrock Depths.

I'm pretty sure Shard of the Defiler was a temporary legendary item from one part of the Atiesh questline (to kill the dreadlord within the staff in Stratholme).
The Warpaint Shirt had to have NOT FOR THE LADIES added because it put the tats over the bra rather than removing it.

The first one actually is obtainable. Its part of the aq staff quest and is very rare but has been gotten quite a few times.

The weapons are in the database because creatures and NPCs can use weapons. Creatures can also use weapons.

In the world.db, there are two tables: creature and creature_equip_template. In the creature table, there is an equipment_id column and if this is set to:

-1: A random equip from the set of equips in creature_equip_template will be chosen.
0: No equipment defined.
1+: The individual id within creature_equip_template.

In creature_equip_template, there are four creature IDs that wield the Frostmourne:

27880 - Frostmourne Weapon Holder (Likely some kind of chest)
30443 - Lich King
31083 - Lich King
31301 - Lich King

So when the lich king hits you with his Frostmourne, he's hitting you with that ingame item in the database. He will have a base damage based on his level, and tweaked a bit for raid difficulty, then on top of that, the Frostmourne damage and effects as well. Most of the items in the database exist for a reason. Weapons we never get to see, but clearly exist in the DB are more than likely for NPC damage purposes, as referenced in the above example. Some of the items that exist, however, only Blizzard know their meaning and purpose.

Versatility was not in the game in vanilla so the breastplate is either fake or put in later.
