Black Myth Wukong Always Accompanied Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - How odd to encounter this old man at every corner! [Bronze]

Unlocked by talking to the “Old Man” NPC in every location and upgrading your gourd to the maximum of 10 healing charges.

THIS REQUIRES ALL LUOJIA FRAGRANT VINE LOCATIONS:

Old Man Location 1: Chapter 1 - Bamboo Grove - Snake Trail: From this shrine go up the stairs, he will stand on the right and gives you the Blessed Gourd.

Old Man Location 2: Chapter 2 - Crouching Tiger Temple - Cellar: From this shrine go down the sandy path, then turn right and go to the end of the path to find him. He's looking at the rocks there. A meditation spot is in the same place. Alternatively, you can get here from Yellow Wind Formation - Windseal Gate: Go through the gate and then take the left path to the end.

Old Man Location 3: Chapter 3 - Pagoda Realm - Warding Temple: From this shrine go up the stairs into the temple courtyard to trigger a boss fight against the Macaque Chief. The Old Man appears during the cutscene and unlocks the Ring of Fire spell for you. This is unmissable from story progression so you can't miss him here.

Old Man Location 4: Chapter 4 - Temple of the Yellow Flower - Temple Entrance: From this shrine go straight ahead into the temple, then slightly to the right through the gate. In this area you find a meditation spot and lots of enemies. In the back of the area go up the stairs to find the NPC, exhaust all dialogue.

Old Man Location 5 + Supreme Gourd Upgrade: Chapter 5 - Furnace Valley - Rakshasa Palace: From this shrine go upstairs and over the bridge. Then take the left path to reach a room with the Old Man NPC. Exhaust all dialogue with him, then interact with the fire in the middle of the same room to upgrade your gourd to the "Supreme Gourd". It's the best gourd in the game, Mythical grade (orange color in inventory), and has 10 healing charges. You must have upgraded your regular Gourd to 9 healing charges at the Shen Monkey (Chapter 1 - Bamboo Forest - Marsh of White Mist). For the required upgrade materials refer to Luojia Fragrant Vine locations:

Figured it out. Anyone who is wondering why you are not getting the old man added to the journal. You must have the other 31 of 32 characters, All 55 Yaoguai Chiefs, as well as All 26 Yaogui Kings. After getting all of these the old man, Yuan Shoucheng will automatically be added as your last 32 character.

For those struggling with the portrait, I believe you’ll have to do NG+ and have all of the other portraits first, it’s what worked for me

This trophy is actually not missable because I got it after the story while I was exploring chapter 4. I accidentally ran into him and spoke to him and the trophy randomly popped

Guys if you're in New Game plus you can get the trophy I just got it now just go to the second place after chapter 1 and if you missed that second place in chapter 2 you can get the trophy just go there and talk to him right now use this guide bro trust me it works I just got the trophy later to go only seven more trophies towards the platinum

Odd how i dont think i spoke with him in every encounter, maxed out the gourd with the fire, and i still dont have the trophy

I missed to talk to him on step 4 and right talked to him on step 6 so my question is can I still do this on my current playthrough or do I have to do NG+?, ok it still worked and I got the trophy once I´ve talked to him everywhere and get the surpreme gourd.

On ng+ trying to get platinum and just realized I missed the old man in chapter 2 🤦‍♂️ I am not playing this through again. No platinum for me…

Edit: I must’ve not exhausted all of his dialogue in every chapter the first time bc he wasn’t in my portraits. Also missed the horse guai quest which is why I started the ng+
