7 days might be dangerous, but I'm on 7 months now and I can tell you it's wonderful.

I gave up buying a cottage back in 1991 because ‘I’d miss the meetings and field service’!
Now I can’t afford a cottage. It would’ve been a fantastic investment as well as a really fun things these last 30 years...

I remember when I way like 8 years old and thinking, "REALLY? We're a thousand miles from home in a tropical paradise and the first thing we do when we get here is bust out the yellow pages and call the local kingdom hall?"

I'd say, "but we're on vacation" and I'd get "We're never on vacation from jeehover." In my mind I'd think, "Yeah. I know. Thanks for that horrible reminder."

I'm ready to run out on the beach and we're ironing our clothes for the meeting we have to go to at 9am while on vacation. "Yeah. Sure. Just drove 23 hours but, yeah, we don't want rest. We don't want to enjoy our vacation. We want jehovah (aka, the organization's approval)."

Sad. Sad and pathetic. How a grown adult falls for this is beyond me. It's fascinating to look at just like a car wreck is fascinating to look at: it's terrible and disgusting but you have to look and think, " how in the f$&?! did THAT happen? "

Stay strong, everyone. Keep up the good fight.

When we vacationed we always went to the local Kingdom Hell. When camping, we'd go in a group of about 20 and have a Sunday meeting right in the open. Was so embarrassing.

I remember wanting to slap the person who would dare remind me to bring my meeting clothes on vacation.

So in other words, nobody takes a holiday from fear, obligation, and guilt. These people are relentless

A couple years ago my son was swimming in the pool on our beach vacation and he made friends with another boy. Suddenly the other boy had to go do bible study! Wtf! I asked the kids mom why? 😂 Of course they were JW interrupting their kid’s fun on a beautiful summer day! 😭 Poor kid. I didn’t mention I was disfellowshipped because I found it funny to talk to them. I just love how you show us secretly taped footage. It almost makes me want to go have an elder meeting and tape it for fun!! Ok no I don’t want to interact with the cult ever again but it’s hilarious to think about. My son asked why I was laughing and I knew this video wouldn’t be funny to him because he’s raised as a free thinker!

I remember in the early 70s, my mother would drag, force me to attend conventions every summer. My half siblings were not required, as their Wordly father had custody of them. 5 FUCKING days of drivel about 1975. All of my JW Relatives are now dead, all of them believing that they would never die. What a colossal waste of time. It left me socially awkward for many years.

OMG. Great video. I remember the elders coming to me before I would go on vacation telling me to go to the kingdom hell and then when I get back they would ask me " So how were brothers over there? ". My answer would always be that I forgot my "Army Uniform ". Lol lol🤵🏻

Reminds me of a JW video about an elder/pioneer/RBC, guy who went on vacation but didn't make his hours.

It was a close thing, he almost lost his "privilege" of performing his mandatory hours.

Tony Morris took a vacation from the meeting to buy the booze for his alcoholic wife.

I thought religion was about healing and helping the poor and creating well-being and happiness ~~~Not about privileges competition or importance and judging others

I remember elders coming up to me and saying, when we went away, what, another holiday!

I went camping with a group of Witnesses and on Sunday they all actually gathered and had a makeshift Watchtower study just like at hall. It was extremely odd.
I always felt closer to God being alone out in wilderness than I EVER have at any meeting, assembly or ridiculous watchtower study listening to people "showing their faith" by repeating what was just read in a paragraph like children do in elementary school

You could put "Vacations" on the title so with each episode we can know what the main topic is. I love to see more Chad! I hope he can scape the organization some day, he's a cool guy.

This episode reminded me of so many conversations that discussed vacationing. When the suggestion was made to visit different halls while traveling (more like a command), I thought of the non-joyful way we were greeted at a visit we made during a trip. It was as though they were thinking, "Just what we need - MORE judgmental visitors dropping by as if touring a zoo."

My ex wife tryed to convert me but it didn't work out. I should laugh at your excellent video because it is not funny but I greatly and gratefully appreciate your hard work

On vacations my parents usually tried to display a Watchtower or Awake in a conspicuous place (like folded in the back pocket of jeans) in an effort to catch the attention of any other JWs who may be nearby. You know, because God forbid we actually interact with....*gasp*....WORLDLY people! 🙄 We were also always on the lookout for the No Blood Card in people's wallets while in checkout lines and such. 😂 Thankfully my father wasn't so much of a zealot that he made us go to meetings or out in field service while on vacation!
