So true. I dated this guy on and off over a few months and we eventually stopped seeing each other. Many years pass and I learn that he passed away about a year ago. I didn't love him and he generally was not very kind to me but when I found out it was like a part of me was ripped out. Maybe it's not the same as a breakup but it did hurt. Certainly a lot more than when we just gradually lost touch.

I am the same way back when I was 18. One girl cheated on me twice and I could not get over it.
Then she and I dated 3 times that last I cheated on her. She faked her own death
What is really sad for me was in September 2010 I met my true love
Then in May this year she boke up with me after 12 and a half years.
We still talk but I want her back because I am so much in love with her big time.
One problem is I never give up at all I am still very much in love with her.
When we met when I was 18 I fell in love when I looked into her eyes love at first sight
We also engaged back in 2018 I want her back so much. I heard from her best I was the best guy she ever dated.
