I do think that Fives deserves more than being named the Captain of the 501st, He's a literal hero of the Republic. So, he should be named Marshal Commander of not just the 501st but also the Coruscant Guard (with both units being given its Unit Commander (Appo and Thorn), that way you could honor both Fallen Members of the Command Batch (Rex and Fox) as well as the main representative of the Clones in the Senate

Beyond this, there are other things that can be used to expand this story

- Yoda, overcome with shame after realizing how the Sith had manage to evolve and infiltrate the Republic under the Jedi's noses as well as how the Jedi has strayed completely from the will of the force, decides to step down as Grandmaster of the Jedi Order and exiling himself from the Order, leaving the Republic behind.

- After Yoda left, Plo Koon asumes the role of Grandmaster of the Jedi Order and start making reforms on the Jedi Order to better fit the Jedi as a whole. Among these include the Aboliishment of the attachment rule (which would've caused the Jedi's downfall in the real timelime) after Skywalker has shown so much dedication to the Jedi despite his attachment to his Wife; Re-beginning the Expansion of the Order into the wider Galaxy (Creating several Academies and Outposts throughout); and (save for a "small" group led by Mace Windu which would be Known as the Republic Knights) separate themselves from the political landscape that basically almost destroyed them and finally focus on helping the people of the Galaxy and answering the will of the force

- The Senate, after realizing how close the Republic was to fall at the hands of Palpatine, his close associates (including Corporations) and the Sith (after more work of the Sith have been exposed to the public and the Senators as well as the possibility of a event like this happening again, also decide to make several reforms. Among them, the Abolishment of the Russan Reformations, The creation of a Military Force (composed originally of Clones but then, as years go by, being replaced by well trained Soldiers), re-establishing a Full Outlaw of the Sith (Including the of so many Artifacts, Temples and Shrines of the Sith, including a major Bombarment Campaign in Korriban) and Major Reforms that will force the Corporations to answer directly to the Senate for every move that they make (Finances and all)

- Several years after his "death" at the Battle of Coruscant, Palpatine, after being resurrected (through a Ritual) in the Unknown Regions by Sith Loyalists who managed to escape the Republic and the Jedi. Now realizes that, thanks to a "miserable meddling clone", The Republic and the Jedi are now too strong to attempt to corrupt them as well as that if he comes to the Known Galaxy at the moment, he will be hunted down and defeated again. So he decided that the days of attempting to defeat the Republic and the Jedi through corruption and subterfuge are over and that the only way to defeat the Republic and the Jedi is the old fashioned way (Open War and Conquest). So, he will spend the next decades plotting and forming his new Sith Empire in the Unknown Regions and beyond the Galaxy

- Unknown to Palpatine at that moment however, another Sith Empire is also forming from outside the Galaxy, led by none other than his former master Darth Plagueis (who survived attempt by Sidious, by using his mastery over Essence Transfer to ensure his escape from the known Galaxy by his spirit traveling to Dormund Kaas, planet that was very unknown at the Galaxy). So there will be a Sith Civil War that last for a few years in the near future with Plagueis becoming the victor and the absolute Sith Emperor. However, the conflict did not go unnoticed by the Jedi (who were starting to penetrate the Unknown Regions and also the clash of the Darksiders was sensed by certain Jedi who became the Grandmaster of the Jedi Order after Plo Koon)

I do agree with u. Because straight up Palpatine's plan is smart, but VERY VERY fragile. He has to hope everything goes his way and relied A LOT of luck

I don't know if Palpatine would let himself get shot like that after being so badly wounded. But then again I could be wrong. Loved how Fives inspired the people to stand up and fight. It will always be something awesome. And I can respect your thinking on your story-telling. Well as how you explained it at the end.

Shame that Rex had to Die, more importantly that Ahsoka wasn’t involved with the Battle of Coruscant as a citizen!

What if; Anakin never gave into his feelings for Padme, Aayla Secura was the chosen one and became Darth Talon, Shme Skywalker was adopted by the Tusken Raiders, Boba Fett saved his Tusken family, Count Dooku was a regular count for the CIS, Jabba the Hutt supported the Jedi at the Start of the Clone Wars, and finally, what if Sabine and Ezra fell in love?

Damn…this has to be one of the best Star Wars What-if’s I’ve seen in a LOOOONG time.
The divergence point is completely believable and doesn’t call for a Duex ex Machina. (The number of other what-if’s that require a DeM is staggering. Good show on that front.)
The characterization of everyone fits well and doesn’t change anything WITHOUT reason.
Rex’s last move…perfection for that paragon of Brotherhood. (I can see that Clone walking up to Sid during the Rebellion and shooting him with a battle cry of “For my BROTHERS”, can’t you?)

Well as they say the truth will set you free and so it proves here with fives surviving to expose the true evil and horror of Sidious and his plot to overthrow the republic. As well as ironically it was the blaster of a clone that cut off Sidious plot for galactic domination at its knees.
