This is the level of skill I want when/if I become a doctor. So calm and stoic and knew exactly what he was doing and what was needed based on the information the patient gave him right before it happened. Very cool to watch. I hope the patient recovered well and got the pacemaker he needed.

For the people wondering, this isn't CPR, nor is it a precordial thump. It's called percussion pacing, though it uses the same logic as a precordial thump, it's delivered with less force and at a rate of 50-70 usually, whilst a thump is typically a one-time blow with more force. Also, remember that precordial thumps are mostly used when there's a witnessing onset of a shockable rhythm whilst percussion pacing is mostly used for bradyarrythmias which may be what the patient is having in this video, it looks like it could potentially be a vasovagal syncope due to sudden bradycardia.
Edit : here's more details for the people wondering what bradycardia is and the type of instances we might use this:
Bradycardia just means that the heart rate is slow.
Basically, imagine going from a heart rate that's normal or fast, anything above 60, while also having a blood pressure that's normal or higher, anything above 120/x, and then suddenly dropping down to a heart rate of 30 or so with or without a pause (long periods between two heartbeats). Essentially, you'd lose circulation of a lot of blood, your blood pressure would tank down, and with it your organs (especially your brain) wouldn't be perfused properly for a few seconds, and that's all it takes for you to have a syncope and pass out. That's why he's striking his chest, with enough force and precision, you're able to generate an electrical impulse ( through mechanical energy ) in the myocardium (heart muscle) and achieve a ventricular rate that's proper.
Most of the people that require this type of intervention are people that will undoubtedly need a permanent pacemaker.
I've personally seen lots of patients with Sick Sinus Syndrome, Tachycardia-bradycardia syndrome or Stokes-Adams syndrome benefit from this. Also, we've done percussion pacing while inserting transvenous pacemakers as a temporary thing. Nowadays, a lot of people would prefer to use external electrical pacing (electrode pads) to pace a person, but some still believe in the good old percussions.

It’s important for everyone to realise he had a heart attack not a cardiac arrest.
With a cardiac arrest their is no unifying heart beat and therefore full cpr would be required.
A heart attack could be fast or slow heartbeat; irregular heartbeat; reduced blood flow to the heart or part of the heart. The thumping on the chest helped to restore an effective rhythm.
Excellent work and so casually done.

If you need to carry out cpr; alternate 30 chest compressions (2 inches or 5 cm deep) with 2 lung inflations. If you’re unwilling to do the inflations just keep doing the compressions at the recommended rate of 100 per minute.

The way when patient tapped on the table and Doc. tossed the pen away gave all of his attention to the patient proves he was on alert & ready to do his duty successfully. & that patient did a good job by tapping on the table to get Doc's attention. Kudos to both Doc. & the patient! Blessings! ⛓️🤍🪻⛓️
