We will go over the process for installing Manjaro Linux for the first time on your system. Before you do this, I recommended you check out the video below where I discuss something you may want to do beforehand including using Linux compatible applications and testing in a virtual environment.

If your doing this on a laptop, make sure to disable secure boot option in bios first.

I didn't do that and installed in legacy (not uefi) in the first place.
Could not the boot order because windows is installed in uefi and manjaro is installed in legacy. I hope this helps someone👍

Switched to Manjaro Linux 6 months ago, and I'm glad I did it.

I personally think that Manjaro is the easiest OS to run. I installed the XFCE version, expecting to learn a bit more about arch and pacman and I ended up running everything from GUI.

Happy to hear someone recommending installing Linux to a new drive - it's amazing how infrequently this solid advice is given. It takes ALL the stress and worry out of being as experimental as you like - either with your learning curve within a specific install or with trying various distros - without some of the quirkiness that can happen with VMs and with all the performance benefits of installing to bare metal.
I've been using 5.25" drive bays that hold two to four x 2.5" SSDs for some years now and it's so easy to switch OS's or flavours of Linux, it's sad that so few computer cases are being manufactured with such bays these days: It's like an OS 'cartridge' system - multiboot made super easy with 0% chance of GRUB or more likely WBM screwing things up :)

Glad to see your review on new update...
I do distro hop with all popular DEs every 2 -3 months and always end up with Manjaro KDE 🤓

Windows has finally failed me in the most total way I can think of. My computer is suddenly nearly inoperable after a recent failed update and even a "remove everything" degree of system reset has failed. My hopes are now on Manjaro to save my computer

Edit: omg everything works again 🥰 The Manjaro installation somehow only took 5 minutes to wipe out my 2 TB hard disk and now my computer is usable again 😭. But now I have no choice but to relearn everything on Linux... But I'm optimistic! ❤️

Great video! I got most of the way through, but got confused when I booted from the flash drive just into the OS. I've done Linux on several devices in the past, but never on a PC, and I'm kinda just experimenting on an old one. This video was super helpful.

Thanks for the video, I'm switching from Pop to something based on Arch after being too frustrated with Pop and it helps.

So I have been a long time Windows user and I have been dabbling with Ubuntu other disto's, dual booting in and out over the last decade++. I never stuck around long enough due to various issues and my own willingness to put in the work. I have to say all that changed with Manjaro KDE. I honestly dual booted it just to give it a spin and see what the fuss was all about and it's been more than 7 months and still going strong. Tbh I thought of giving up so many times due to major issues I faced but after literally putting in the work, I have now have set it up just the way I like it and prefer it over Windows, especially due to KDE's insane customisation abilities.

Manjaro is great especially with the selection of desktops they offer both main and community releases. And better still spin offs such as MaBox Linux that uses tiling managers is even based on Manjaro. Such a great project and really should come as a rival to Microsoft and apple, just need more people to download and install it🙂

I've done this many many times, but watched it ANYWAY in case maybe you mentioned something I didn't know that I might be doing incorrectly or could do better. THANKS- EXCELLENT VIDEO . I've distro-hopped a lot- and have over 20 distros on VENTOY--- but seem to always come back to my MX21- I DO like manjaro though- the basick look out of the box is probalby the best. I changed mine several times and always went back to the original..

Had to enable legacy boot for the USB to work, but other than that it was a smooth install. Thanks for the video. This is a really snappy OS. Having only 4GB RAM made Windows very slow.

Not a Manjaro fan but after this video I am going to give it a try for a couple of weeks and see if maybe it could take the place of my fedora workstation. Funny thing is your videos are what facilitated my change from Ubuntu 😂. Another great video

Okay so, I'm dual booting Manjaro alongside with Windows and I came across one problem. When in Partition section, I chose the manual partitioning option but there is not option of "Install Boot Loader". Note that in mine it shows GPT (GUID Partition Table).
