Trauma surgery was one of my favorite rotations in med school. In all specialty choices consider your lifestyle, call schedule, shifts vs normal work hours etc.

I respect the hell out of trauma surgeons. You have to be a jack of all trades, and to think quickly on your feet while the person you’re trying to help is nearly dead.
Nothing can be more stressful... I couldn’t do that

This seems like the perfect field for me. I have been working in various ERs over the past 3 years and the fast pace and unpredictability is exactly what I love about emergency medicine but in this case it includes the surgical element which has always fascinated me.
