Also note that at 8:49, PGY2 should say R2, not R1, and so on.

It’s crazy how ob/gyn is way less compensated in comparison to urology when they’re the same thing for the 2 sexes. In fact, ob/gyn has more to deal with when you factor in childbirth.

If you want a great read from an OBGYN doctor, “This is Going to Hurt” is a brilliant journal that also gives a good insight to what NHS doctors go through in the UK!

As a 15 year old high school student I want to be an Ob/Gyn and this video is literally just what I need.
Edit: Tbh I think I have to clear it. I don't live in US or UK. My country has a different education system which is after high school we go to uni. How many years you study changes within the degree, like for med school its 6 years, for architecture its 4 years etc. We decide which lessons we'll get in the second half of high school in second year. It divides as verbal, numerical, language and TM (Turkish&Math). So its better if I begin to decide what I want to be this year because we have an exam to get in to unis. 😊

About 28% of ob. gyns. reported that they were very happy at work, and 54% said that they were very happy outside of work, according to the Medscape report.👍

These videos are gold. I'm a med school student and in my country we aren't able to go to the hospital as much due to the pandemic so we're missing out on a lot of exposure. These videos are really helpful, especially right now, so thank you. This was a great episode!

As a 14 year old going through gynaecological problems from age 12 and Being told I'm going to need surgery in the next two has completely inspired me to become a OBYGYN and has opened my vision to the problems teens and women go through. I truly believe that we need more of these incredible specialists in the world to provide anyone needing this specific care. I wish, dream and believe to become one 🤞 and hopefully treat the next generation and inspire them. This is my goal in life, including writing a book about my journey through my problem. I wish anyone the best in becoming a gynaecologist as u need determination and passion, and I feel like the people in these comment sections will be the NEXT GENERATION.

YAAAAY OB/GYN finally! This has been one of my most looked-forward-to SYWTB's. I'm pre-nursing rather than pre-med, but I both watch and study (I have legit taken notes off of some, particularly the study methods-focused ones) all your vids greatly as not only do I hope to become a great (possibly ICU) nurse, but I'm strongly looking at possibly becoming an NP/Nurse Anesthetist down the road, as much of the content in those two is similar to what doctors do and learn. I've been making A's in all my classes and have greatly improved my health and lifestyle practices thanks to your vids. Thank you for also helping aspiring nurses like me get stellar grades/stay in good physical + mental health along with aspiring doctors, Dr. J!

Lesson 1: Actually listen to patients who complain about classic endometriosis symptoms instead of dismissing them as whiny hypochondriacs.

Hello Dr. Kevin! Thank you so much for making these kind of videos. I have so much passion for medicine even if I am still in Grade 8. This truly helps a lot!

One correction: It's "Maternal-Fetal Medicine" not "Maternal Family Medicine".

Absolutely love this series.! It would be great if you could make videos on the specialties that aren't talked about as often such as radiology, rheumatology etc.
