I love how not once did they go to a shelter or a breeder to get a cat, every single one of their cats was a stray that showed up in their yard and never left

Had to have my own experience of pets not being around forever at the very young age of 36. My very beloved cat of 10 years needed to be put down because of kidney failure. Without exaggeration, it was the saddest time of my life and needed to get over his demise as long as you would with the death of a human - is what I expect, because I took over a year and I have never yet lost a beloved person, because there are so few.
Now my friend has a really beautiful grave with a hand crafted cat shaped tombstone and a little garden around in the middle of the woods. There was a time where I was visiting him every single day. It's not that often anymore these days (especially in summer, when bugs and all kinds of vermin are threatening to devour you if you stay longer than 5 minutes in the forest), but still several times a month to check, if everything is fine. Back in the day, I made sure a lit candle was around at all times, which is why I needed to go there at least every 4 days. At first, I was buying candles, but throwing away a plastic enclosure every 4 days seemed like unnecessary garbage to me. So I got a heart shaped glass candle, which I would refill with wax and wicks. Which felt nice, to replace a candle, made by my own hands. But then again I thought, it's not the best decision for the environment to literally keep burning wax. So I switched again to an LED candle, which lasts for many months. Whatever it is that flickers there, it feels bad to me, when the light is gone. It's a very sentimental and non-logical thing, but that's how it is. No matter if people or other creatures, every once living being you miss deserves his respect, by keeping that light going.

2½ years after he was gone, I got another cat. It wasn't planned, I took her from the streets. She had a horrible previous life, got abused and was close to starving. Her life started shitty, and so I have the urge to compensate her with a dream life for the rest of her days - which supposedly are many to come, she'as expected to be 3 years old. She still carries a lot of fear, getting easily startled and afraid, but that's only natural. Other than that, she's perfectly fine and lives her best cat life right now.

As of now, this video has over 225, 000 comments, so I am writing this with the clear knowledge, that probably not a single person ever will read this. But it still felt right to write it. And now since you read this here, you can consider yourself special, that you may be the sole person, having read those lines. They probably don't mean anything to you, but they were written with love.

Animals deserve all the love in the world. Every animal. Because every animal is innocent, in every possible meaning. Whatever bad an animal might do, it was not intended to be bad or is part of their instincts, like killing other animals for survival. But none of it is being done with bad intentions, unlike humans. Humans can be malicious and many are, which is why humans are not innocent, while every animal is. Therefor, taking in an animal is never bad, taking in a person can be. Speaking of experience.

Every life is precious. And especially since animals have so much less support over their existence, than people, they deserve all possible support from the few respectful people out there. Soon I'll be in the US, cycling around the nation and making sure to carry a gun for defence. There are supposed to be bears and other dangerous animals. My plan is to not hurt any animal at any point, until it might be a case of life or death. No life of an animal must be sacrificed, until it intends to take your life.

Okay, endless pools of wisdom are over. I hope you took anything from those lines for yourself. Treat animals well. If you want to be treated well yourself, that's the only right thing to do.

The reason a lot of cats aren’t as loyal and nice as a lot of dogs is because a lot of house cats were once feral, or had a bad owner before going to a new owner. But you just have to treat cats really good and let them warm up to you! If a cat is feral when you got it, it will most likely try to steal your food because as a wild cat, it had to scavenge and hunt, and those instincts will always be there.

If spot was an older cat like you had him around 13-15 years. Old cats tend to run away from their family’s so they can die on their own because they can sense their unwell.
