I love how Americans are arguing with Africans about Africa.

Some people can be really ignorant about race or skin colour.

As an Amazigh ( native North African) I cannot tell you how often I'm told that I'm not African and I shouldn't call myself African and also that I'm apparently a colonizer even though my people have been around for more than 40000 years with no record whatsoever of colonizing my native lands just because I'm white passing

Well said👍 I’m Algerian and I was born blond. Only in America i find morons who think it’s because we were invaded by French … Their ignorance hurts my eyes/ears

Europe and India are technically just subcontinents of Asia, completely connected to each other, as much as North and Subsaharan Africa. And we are three distinct types of people and no one seems to question why that is 😅😂 And the very same reason for those distinctions applies - the barrier of the Himalayas in the Indian subcontinent and the vast steppe and then the desert between China and the west (inhabited by mixed communities). Ffs it’s just basic common sense! You can be on the same continent or landmass without looking the same

These people live in America and still can't grasp that a continent has different races. 😂😅

I don't think people realize just how big Africa is. It's huge.

As a Nigerian, I don't even get this idea. You are in the continent of Africa. Therefore, you are an african. It isn't just a complexion.

Does they mean that Indians are not Asian because they do not look like Chinese, Japanese or Koreans ? For *Example*

I don't think this lass understand what Black means. Black people are the indegineous melanated people who have adapted and evolved on the continent of Africa and never left. They are the original people onf the continent.

They do not include those who evolved in Eurasia and migrated into Africa some 50, 000 years ago like Moroccans and The berbers.

Black people though called black are a technically a misnomer. Because black native Africans have the widest skin colour range of anybody on Earth. From a pale yellow to a brown then a deep black.

What this lady speaks about is a huge misunderstanding. The majority of Africans are black. Some people in Africa are descendants of Eurasian invaders and don't qualify as Black even with some melenain in skin because their ethnic group did not originate and evolve in Africa.

As an African, it's annoying when someone refers to the African continent as if it was only one country.
Also, don't forget that Elon Musk is also from Africa.
