I hate how many people ignore the nuances of Africa and throw labels around. Thank you for an in-depth look into the region.

If you ever hear someone from Malta speak 🇲🇹 (a small island between 🇱🇾 🇹🇳 and 🇮🇹) you can hear the influence Tunisian and Western Libyan dialects have on the language.

As a Libyan who’s currently researching the Barbary states, I think a lot of the quite recent history is so underrated and unknown for no reason. Did you know that Tripoli, the capital of Libya, defeated Denmark and Sweden simultaneously in the early 19th century, all while extracting concessions from several European countries that effectively turned the Mediterranean into a North African lake? Neither did I. Great video as always.

Edit: something I’d like to add, North Africa wasn’t just a part of Christianity or Christianized by an external force, IT was Christianity. It was the Libyans from Cyrene who first spread the “Good News” to gentiles and formed the church of Antioch. Mark the Evangelist, who wrote the first bible, was Libyan. The man who helped Christ carry the cross, Simon of Cyrene, was a Libyan as well.

Great video ! But little correction : Algerians an Moroccans don’t hate each other per s’y ( just look at the Moroccans and Algerian waving at each other in the borders ), it’s the gouvernement that have tensions, which unfortunately leads to the people disliking each others. Algerians are for us our lost twin brothers separated because of colonialism. We will always love and respect them ! 🇲🇦 🇩🇿 💝

As an outsider, Mediterranean people and their countries seem, in some select ways, more similar to each other than they are to their Northern peers (for Europeans), Southern peers (for Africans) or Eastern/Southern peers (for Middle-Easterns).

North african countries are like siblings and cousins in a big family: no matter how much we fight, we still love each other to death. As a morrocan myself, i send my love to all algerians, libyans, tunisians, and anybody else. Lemme hear y'all voices!

0:07 correction: Egypt's only category is "Egyptian country". we aren't considered Arab, even Arabian countries don't consider us arab. we're not similar to north African countries. Africans doesn't consider it African.
but we have our own culture, history, traditions. And we even have our own ethnicities and races like north Egyptians, south Egyptians and nubians, making Egypt one of the few mono-ethnicitic countries with the population of 111 million.

I'm a black Algerian woman but I guess it would be fair to say that Algerian society is a predominantly white society and it's different from other African countries. Even black Algerians have different features than our sub-saharan brothers and Africa as a continent is very diverse.

As an Algerian African, I care about the interests of brotherly countries because they express security and stability in the region, unlike other regions of the world. The traditions of the countries are very similar, but there are differences in cultures, and this is what distinguishes North Africa because they are fraternal countries, despite some problems, but the peoples are united among themselves. We look forward to A bright future for this great country🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿🇩🇿

I hereby declare the countries of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya to be honorary Europeans.
