Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signs online sales tax bill estimated to produce $1 billion a year

Gov. Ron DeSantis late Monday signed into law a plan to require out-of-state online retailers to collect sales taxes on purchases made by Floridians, with the estimated $1 billion a year in revenue going to curb a pair of taxes on Florida businesses.

Increases taxes on the public to lower the tax on commercial spaces after refilling their unemployment pool? Why not put that towards protecting Florida from flooding, hurricanes, or to directly help the people? And didn't the Florida government basically kneecap their unemployment site and made it really hard to file and get your unemployment (which IIRC is the lowest unemployment rate in the country)? This sounds like it is only going to help business owners who have multiple locations/properties.

For us smaller retailers this will be a nightmare. As it is it takes me about 4 hours to do the Florida return on the few sales within Florida.
