Has there ever been another navy in all history that lost a naval war against a country that doesn't even have its own navy?

Russia has never figured out naval warfare throughout its entire history. They have a long a proud history of being humiliated at sea.

Russia's Navy has had a long, and, storied history of massive incompetence, and, corruption, starting with Tsushima Strait in 1906.

Between their Navy and Air Forces, it is hard to say which has had the least impact.

*Former US Navy Sonar Technician here: Don't underestimate China's sub-fleet simply because they're diesel and not nuclear. When a diesel goes on-battery, it's like a fart in the wind... There are PLENTY of tactical ways to quickly attack with diesels, especially when they have numbers.

(That's not to say we can't handle it [lol], just that they're more of a pain in the ass than you'd expect.)

Russia has long followed the “quantity over quality” approach to warfare, and it’s finally in the “find out” phase

Correction at 2:00
It REQUIRES Turkey to block warships during wartime. That was a condition for allowing Turkey to occupy and control Constantinople. Should Turkey fail to block warships from traversing the straits then they are supposed to forfeit control of that city.

The Admiral Kuznetsov can’t go anywhere without it’s 2 tugboats ready to tow it back to port. Can you imagine having your entire fleet depending 100% on Chinese warfare technological prowess? Hilariously incompetent!

If Putin wants to stop being embarrassed, all he has to do is leave Ukraine.

The best the Russian/Soviet Navy ever performed was in a work of fiction called “Red Storm Rising”.

There was a pre war report about the state of the moskwa. A lot was broken or running on lower power. Most of the defence systems you mentioned were broken or otherwise not able to operate.

Over the course of human history, whoever controls the seas, controls the world. The Greeks and Romans each controlled the Med at different times so they became the supreme power of their times. The Vikings were basically unstoppable but slowly faded away. The Spanish, British and French each had their time as Naval superpowers. Now the Americans control just about every important waterway in the world and are now the sole superpower because of it. The Navy is the MOST important branch of any military.

Russia can rightfully claim it has the second-best Ukraine.

This video makes me recall the story about the Russo-Japanese fight in the strait of Tsuchima where the Russian Navy was defeated by the Japanese. It is not only the weapon, but the soldier or sailor who uses it which shall decide the outcome of a battle.

India bought a Russian aircraft carrier from Russia and was very very unhappy with it.

Russia is a nation that is falling from status, the other case is Argentina that also fell from being a power to being basically a country in total descent, what differentiates them is that Russia is screaming, kicking and lashing out at others refusing to accept that they are no longer relevant, while Argentian, after being in a self-destruct loop for generations, is trying to break out of it.

Why don't Russian sailors take showers? They prefer to wash up on the beach.

In a real confrontation with the West, Putin's navy would have to be in the oceans, and then they could only resupply in the East or the Arctic, a long way from production. Fleets in the Baltic, Black Sea and even the Med would be "sitting ducks."
