The story originated from reddit it basically describes how a redditer lived an imaginary life which in his perspective, lasted for 10 or so years, but really what happened was he was in a accident and had brain injury and his brain conjured up all this up in a few seconds time. So in this parallel life he was sitting in his living room and he noticed that the lamp was not following any of the rules of this universe (glitching, changing in size etc etc) he started at it, his wife whom he had imagined up, was worried and took their children (again not real) and left.

He just kept staring at the lamp till he understood that the lamp was not real, and everything came crashing down.

He woke up in the pavement where he was thrown onto after the accident seconds after it had happened.

This actually happened to my uncle once. During quarantine he was in a coma for half a year, when he woke up he told his brother(my dad) that he was living in this other world where he had a beautiful wife and a cute daughter, when he already had a wife and son (my aunt and cousin). He till this day says he has a longing to be with them and misses them greatly.
