Dr. Boz, you are restoring my faith that there are still some uncompromised Dr.'s out there that take their oaths seriously. I was 265lbs at 68 years old and diabetic (157 - fasting). I took Keto seriously and a little over 1 1/2yrs, I am 191 (6'3") with normal glucose <100 fasting. It works!

Dear Doctor Boz, On March 19, 2023 I was scanning Youtube trying to figure out my digestive issues. I landed on the series with you and your Sister in law and I have to say it was a changing moment. I can't get enough of your videos and I for one love your graphs and the way you show the data. Thank you! Thank you!

The comment you made Dr. Boz about moving meals closer to morning and away from night time to prevent or help morning fast blood sugar being high is a great tip. I strive to eat my dinner earlier in the day like 4pm instead of 6pm which makes my fast till the next morning more like a 14 hour fast instead of a 12 hour fast. If my morning blood sugar level is high I will just skip breakfast till noon to make it a 18-20 hour fast.

I started on 8/21/22 cut out all sugar(as well as sugar substitutes), breads/grains & processed foods while doing 18:6 intermittent fasting. My starting fasting glucose was around 190 with post-prandial over 260. After the first week I then cut out any starchy vegetables & moved to a 20:4 fasting ratio. By the end of 2 weeks my fasting glucose was down to the 130s & post-prandial around 180. I was only eating "healthy" vegetables but still not getting the glucose results I wanted. I then moved to OMAD & also moved my eating window earlier in the day & began seeing better results, but still had some joint pain & other issues. In September, I eliminated vegetables & went carnivore, still doing OMAD. My current fasting glucose is between 90-105 & post-prandial around 115 on most days. I'm now ready to start fine-tuning to finally get my fasting glucose consistently under 80-90 & continue to improve my health & insulin resistance. I ordered a keto Mojo & your workbook & they should be here Wednesday or Thursday. Hopefully this will help me to get over this hump. I'm still happy with the results I've had so far (lost 30 lbs, glucose MUCH better than before!) but I don't want to settle for anything other than optimal health!

Such fantastic information. It explains why this happens in such a way I think most people could understand.

Hi Dr. Boz, I was turned on to Keto from a friend that has some of the same concerns about health. I have started the process of changing my intake and removing carbs and have picked up a few other things like pee-tosis tests, I am working to start my journey on the ketosis way of life, I totally appreciate that you don’t push “product” but “health”. I have purchased your 1st book and the fridge and pocket guide. I am looking forward to better understanding of the info I need to be successful, and in turn helping others to find their healthy self. Shelly

Love the comments at 40 minutes, more or less, regarding if having success staying where you are - when I did this after going through the course in March 2020 - I fell off the wagon around July. Guess I got stuck in the Covid Pan. Started 4 weeks ago - maintaining a good DBR under 100 mostly in 40s. I love that you shared that if you are doing good at the first level stay there. My plan is to stay here until I need to move forward. Slow and Steady!

I have seen some Keto experts suggest that we eat later in the day because the rise in morning glucose levels means we don't need food. However, when I followed my hunger and your advice, my morning blood sugars dropped from the 90s to the 70s.

Yes I do fight the higher morning glucose, around 125. I will have to do some 36-48 hour fast and lower my carbs to 20 grams.

The only thing that lowered my dawn phenomenon numbers is eating a low carb breakfast. Otherwise they just linger in whatever zone they're in - which is obviously higher than the number I had before bed. Lowering body fat and increasing fitness got rid of dawn phenomenon, but it took time. YMMV

Starting keto diet for a 3rd time and hoping I don’t give into my cravings.
Please pray for me and hope I could actually do it this time.

Please teach us type 1 diabetics how to safely do keto when no endos will help us. Need to address autoimmune issues as well.

I've found for me, two (2) LCHF meals a day along with time restricted eating, has done wonders for reducing my insulin resistance\metabolic syndrome. It really is all about the carbs.

Dr. Boz, I really appreciate the work you do. Thank you.
Do you happen to know of any Keto supportive doctors here in Ontario Canada? I told my obese family doctor that I was doing keto (I am carnivore but was afraid that her would freak out at the truth)and his response was to have a burger as a treat every once in a while.
My blood sugar is all over the place getting as low as 3mmol, I have leg cramps despite taking lmnt etc. It would be so nice to have a keto friendly doctor to talk to.

I’ve been 24 hour fasting for a weeks now. My body feels really good. I’m making ketones, my glucose is slowly improving, even stevia is too sweet for me. Early on I jumped into longer fasts and I felt really worn out. I was also using flavored LMnT and my body didn’t show improvement. I determined even stevia is impacting my insulin response. I cut out all sweeteners and started adding sour and fermented foods. Massive improvement.
Yesterday I fell off the Keto wagon and had carbs (a lot less than I would have months ago but still significantly different than Keto 24 hr fasts) and I felt crappy all day. I’m very eager to get back in my keto fasted state because I feel so much better in it. I’ve added coffee.
It’s a system now. I wake up, do body movements to burn off morning glucose. I drink Baja gold salt in water, mct oil, acv before I am going to eat, sourcrout right before I eat, then eat usually tuna or salmon with olive oil and avocado (at times I add low carb high fiber veggies, other times not) and after that lots of water and salt, sometimes acv throughout the day. And I feel fine. Not only fine but good. I have energy to go for walks, I do body weight exercise. I don’t do super intense exercise now and don’t feel I need to. I sleep better. My energy is stable. My brain is sharp and I don’t have that sick feeling I do when I eat carbs. I’ve been adding coffee an hour before eating (between 10-11am) or a bit earlier when my schedule is earlier, and it’s an excellent appetite suppressant. I don’t need it but it’s a great option. Black, no cream or seeetener. My palette has totally changed. I don’t crave fruits or sugars or carbs, I don’t want dairy. My body feels best this way. When I do feel I need more fiber or some sugar I eat a grapefruit and feel really full.
