This is definitely one of the best gardening/landscaping channels out there. They don’t waste your time with excess talking, and have a real love for the subject. All of their hints, tips, and lessons have been aces! As always, thank you!

This was really helpful because I wanted to know if I could take a ton of basil off! And after I saw what you were left with, I realized I can take it down a lot! Thank you

Hi Laura. My husband Phil and I watch your videos every week. We always watch for Russel to photo bomb you! Too Cute! When you answer your mail, I do think people get way to personal and ask questions that have nothing to do with gardening. But you have a sweet spirit and answer them anyway. We love you and wish you the best in developing your new plot of land.

I stumbled on this video, but I’m glad I did. No click bait, not drama, no superfluous stories of the fist time you ate basil as a kid, etc. It was PERFECT! Clear, concise, informative..and it made me smile at the end. Really though - we’ll done! Time to subscribe.

Best video I’ve seen on pruning. Other ones aren’t as clear.

My late mother loved basil and she would have about thirty to forty pots of basil! She was born and raised in Greece where the basil plant is apart of our religion. We grow the “Greek” basil, the one with the small leaves! My father would cut a sprig of basil and wear it on his ear! Basil has been a part of my life since childhood. I love it! 🌿🍃🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷

It took me a while to realize the first leaves where seedling leaves and not true leaves. Thank goodness for people like you. Thanks for everything you do. ;). Excited to be growing cardinal Basil from seed this year. I hope your year is full of blessings from God. hugs- from my whole family!

Thanks for this video. my youngest daughter brought home basil she started at school, and we're growing it indoors. I didn't know that I should be pruning it so I'm glad I found this.

How informative! I’ve grown basil for years, and never knew how to prune it. I used the “guess this is good” approach, but you’ve made it clear.

Thanks for the tip. I planted basil this year again, I have not been successful growing basil, and I love to use basil in my dishes.

I have grown basil for a few years now and I did not know to prune them. Guess that's why mine was always leggy!!! I did cut the blooms off but never pruned them back. I will be doing this the correct way this year. I learn so much from ALL your videos. Thanks so much for sharing your wealth of knowledge. I appreciate all of your videos.
Love how you do your flower arrangements. Keep up the great tutorials. 😋😋😋

This is the first video that has mentioned pruning them after so many leaf sets, this seems like important information. Every other video I have watched was all, just pinch off the new leaves or went straight to the flowering stage. Thank you!

I just bought a basil from Ralphs. It's called a living plant because it's potted and growing so one can grow their own basil in the kitchen. I have wanted to buy one for weeks now, and I finally bought one.It looks so full, healthy and beautiful. I'm so excited to grow it. I had remembered you made this video so thanks so much for making this great video.

I just found this site and LOVE it! This girl is so cute and natural and knowledgeable, but it's the way she shows you how to do things - very simply! Plus, I love that she didn't edit herself when she asked viewers to give a thumbs up but made a thumbs down sign! All of her videos are terrific!

You did a great job in explaining how to prune basil! I grew a plant from seed and obviously didn't do it right because it just stopped producing leaves. I know now that I didn't let it mature long enough before I started taking leaves from it. I just grew a new one and now that I've seen your video, I know I'm going to have a big, lush plant in no time! Thanks again for the great instruction!

After watching your video, I went straight to my five-year-old basil plant. And yes, just like you said, it was very spindly with lots of flowers. I say "was" because I immediately pruned the poor old thing following your directions. Thanks for the basil-pruning video. It is informative - I didn't know one should prune basil - and easy to follow. And yes, I subscribed.
