Making great iced tea is simpler than you'd think. In this short tutorial, we'll show you three different ways you can make amazing, fresh-brew iced tea. 2018

Hey, everyone, I'm the founder of the Art of Tea and today we're going to learn about how to make the perfect glass of iced tea.

We're going to go through this with three easy steps. We want to be able to offer you the most delicious experience possible, that's part of our mission to make it super fun and easy for you and of course, for your staff.

Step one flash brew. You can take one of our two quart iced teas, they're portion packed, we have a lot of fun using that Takeya Iced Tea Pitcher. You place it inside, then you fill it up about a third with hot water. Let it sit for about three minutes and then you place a third of room temp water, then a third with ice.

Seal it up. You're going to give it a good shake. There you have perfect brewed, fresh Iced Tea, ready to go.

Method number two Cold brew. Again using the Takeya as the example, you're going to fill it with freshly drawn cold filtered water. Try saying that five times fast. Take out one of our two quart award winning Iced Teas and give it a shake just for a few seconds. Just kind of make sure that the leaves are fully exposed to the water. And you let it sit in your refrigerator for about 12 to 14 hours, depending on the strength and the density that you're looking for. Wow, you can actually see the tea starting to steep, just in cold water you can see just this really beautiful brew starting to come through. I'm always fascinated about it.

The night before, so the night shift they would take the tea place it inside the pitcher and let it steep overnight. Your morning shift can come through and they take the filter out and you have freshly made cold brew Ice Tea that's been made overnight. For time's sake, this is what it's going to look like. So the things you want to look for is you want to look for color, you want to look for depth. If you let your tea steep for too long or if you let it steep overnight for a few nights then it'll start to get cloudy because at a microbial level the teas continue to cook and it starts to cloud. And we're much more fascinated with the color and the liquor and the fresh flavor that's able to come through. You want to deliver just the freshest and the best, most delicious experience possible.

Step three and probably the most versatile is using loose leaf tea instead of a pre-portioned bag and using it on a much larger scale. So if you're a fast volume cafe or restaurant or hotel then using a three gallon dispenser is probably the best and the most effective way of brewing Iced Tea. You basically open up the bag, we have what we call our Japanese filter bags and you place the tea inside. You have these slots that basically can insert your fingers into and fold it over, drop it inside, fill it with freshly drawn cold filtered water and let it sit in your refrigerator covered overnight. And there you have your three gallons of cold brew Ice Tea.
