In some markets Dashers will be seeing this new pay model for select merchants (Chipotle)
Will you be doing these offers? what do you think about them?
What other changes will Doordash try out?

I’m with you 100% Pedro. The whole reason I do gig work is NOT to be an employee with a low wage per hour.

Dont do Chipotle, Popeyes, ice cream or water ice joints, Walmart or dinner. Ill do pretty mu h everything else, but if they expect me to do an order for 5 bucks, nope. What they should do is take a really slow merchant off the platform or charge them a higher percentage per order because of the slow service. Punish the merchant not the drivers.

I haven't seen this in my market but I can say with certainty that in my market, 10$ per hour will not fly. Drivers here grumble when they're making 20$ per hour. Add to that, for unknown reasons, DD customers rarely tip. Wow! The CEO is really totally disconnected from his drivers.

Instead of Door Dash they should change their name to Mystery Dash. It's a mystery what you will be paid for your hard work.

This would be a giant HELL NO from me.

Every change Doordash makes just further hurts us as drivers. I didnt think they could get any less transparent but they continue to give us the shaft. Like you said, a lot of people dont tip, so get ready for running deliveries for straight up $10 per hour. I could make more money doing literally anything else and I'm not beating the hell out of my car for it.

$10 an hour? Hell no. I called today, and rep refused to tell me the tip on order, I said the lack of transparency is getting old. Imagine showing up for a large catering order, and only getting $10, and driving high miles.

$10/hr is absolutely horrible! Even for Atlanta, GA that's bad Lol

Btw I'm rarely using DD anymore so I'm glad not to be entangled with the politics 😅 all of my earnings come from UE

Pedro I'm close to 2000 deliveries. If doordash does this for every order I'm done

The minimum here is 11$ an hour, add to that the extra business tax, plus gas... not happening.

UberEats is offering that they will guarantee drivers will make at least $1050 on their first 100 order. This is in Las Vegas NV and it needs to be done within 90 days of signing up.

What it boils down to in SIMPLE wants you to blindly wait for orders at Chipotle for .17 cents/minute(it's actually like 16.5...I just rounded it up LOL) without having ANY idea on how far the order is going or if there is ANY tip. They are doing this b/c the normal way they have been doing it like every other order is not working. Once a Dasher accepts the order and gets to the restaurant and see that it's going to be 15+ min before their order is ready, they simply unassign the order b/c they don't get paid to wait...and actually lose money waiting b/c they aren't receiving other offers while waiting most of the time.

So DoorDash has come out with this model promising $10/hour if you have to wait on your order. The reason they cant tell you the mileage or tip like normal is because they do not have an order for you until it actually gets made by Chipotle WHILE you are waiting. Basically DoorDash is going to tell Chipotle "Ok we have 4 dashers waiting so go ahead and make 4 or the 10 orders you have right now for DD customers and whatever 4 you make will be assigned to the 4 gullible dashers that are waiting for the .17/per minute that we have made sound better by telling them it's $10/hour. The part that we hope they don't realize is they only get paid per minute, so if you are there for 20 mins, we are going to pay you $3.40...Oh by the way the order I assigned you is a $2.25 base pay order with ZERO tip going 6.5 miles. So lets do the math...You made $.3.40+ 2.25+0(tip)=$5.65 for a 13 mile round trip order that you got a SHITTY 1 star rating by the customer who was mad because you didn't have enough pep in your step when you dropper their order off.

WAKE UP DASHERS....DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!

They have the analytics, increase the base pay on difficult pick ups, long wait times and don't change anything. They know what needs to be done, their playing games, they just wanna figure out how to make more money while dressing it up like it's good for the drivers. No tip deliveries don't get picked up, increase the pay, this is very simple, increase the pay problems will be solved across the board but they just continue playing games. With inflation and gas prices it's barely worth it as is, eventually drivers will pay Doordash to work for them and honestly it's getting close to that.

As a new driver... literally my 3rd day. I see that DD wants me to accept every order and stacks crappy orders to throw me for a loop. Thanks to you, I know how to break the orders down. Also, I've learned a trick to accept orders for merchants that I know are closed. Drive half a block to the merchant, click the I have arrived button. Then I go to help and select the merchant is closed tab. I get half the total fee for driving a very short distance. Scam? Nah, just doing my part to keep DD honest.

As always, Pedro, thank you for the updates and videos. I'm kinda in shock over this new development and when it hits my market - I will finally drop DoorDash for good. I cannot take orders without having full knowledge of where I'm going and full payout. If this is how it will be - then it was good while it lasted but I'm not desperate to work for pennies. Also, we have to pay taxes on earnings, our own healthcare, car insurance and maintenance. Thanks again for passing on the what's going on. You, mama and baby stay well!

This is very strange seeing minimum wage is $13 an hour in MA. Lowest minimum wage in all of New England is $12 an hour and NY is $12.50. I don’t know how they could even offer $10/hr legally lol

I for one will not except any order that comes up this way. I have not seen this notice yet. I can guarantee I will not be suckered into taking any of those lol

I do uber and average $20-30 an hr.. $10 is definitely low… especially in nyc where I used to work and in Miami where I’m working at now
