Turn off all internal burners and close the lid to smother the fire. Open the lid after about 20 seconds and let the smoke billow out (anything salvageable will survive this step…anything that doesn’t was already gone). Go in the house, find a mirror, and look at a failure. Only in that order will you find future success.

Shut off burners
Remove all food sources
Push grill into pool
Then cal it a day & go to Wendys

Keep this man away from any heat devices including all gas & electric grills and or appliances of any kind.

Step 1: Turn off all the burners
Step 2: Get all the food off the grill
Step 3: Grab the baking soda and sprinkle it all over the grease fire you now have

Step 4: Clean your grill as you should have regularly (twice to three times a year) to prevent a grease fire from happening.

This happens when you don’t thoroughly clean your grill. It burns all the accumulated grease under the burners.

When grilling and you experience an out of controlled fare up and don't have a fire extinguisher near by, always have A BOX OF BAKING SODA near by. When you throw baking soda on a class B (grease) fire, the baking soda will extinguish the fire . Watching this video, the brother that turned it off was a God Send, but if you can close that hood, to smother the air, and turn off that propane tank and actually unscrew it to remove it MORE POWER TO IT.

For everyone saying only to shut off the burners- You can do that, but you should also close the valve on the tank in case there is a leak somewhere that is causing the fire.
