I recommend The Manchurian Candidate. The Original. Directed by John Frankenheimer.

My recommendation is The Warriors. It hasn't been released recently but it is out there and it's just a damn cool movie.

Neil Maskell is the detective. I really think Christy and Matt are uncharacteristically easy on this film. The first half is a really good Hitchcockian thriller, but the film falls apart in the second half and the third act is borderline incoherent.
