Actually, Ottomans did attempt to conquer Italy, even capturing the city of Otranto in the Italian peninsula.

It was the dream of Sultan Mehmed II who conquered Constantinople, to conquer Rome and establish the Roman Empire again.

He died just after beginning his Italian campaign though, and the other sultans weren't as interested in Italy as he was.

Ottomans never prioritize navy and so they were less likely to settle control over disconnected pieces of land. Their system was land army centered.

It was logistically almost impossible. The Navy should protect supply until the main force enter southern italy. That would be a time until goal. Exhaustion and disease might happened and risk of being cut off. Which already happened realistically

Completely bullsh!t😂
Mehmed the Conqueror had ambition over italy to unite both roman empires. He conquered Otranto, he had a huge army in Balkans to conquest somewhere while he poisoned and died.
Later, nobody had any ambition over Italy.
Also, Venice, Genoa and Knights Hospitallier defeated by Ottomans several times. Suleiman didnt execute all the knights instead he freed them to go wherever they want.
Genoa lost Aegan islands and Crimea
Venice lost Balkans, Aegan islands and Cyprus
