The main reason is ethno nationalization, Everyone wanted their own nations even Turks themselves. Thats because Ottoman was not an ethno nationalistic empire but an Islamic Caliphate with the idea of uniting Muslims under one central rule but everyone all of a sudden wanted a nation of their own based on race, history, culture, etc.

Well one of the other main reason is Nationalist ideas after the French revolution

The Ottoman decline was caused by a commercial factor too. The America’s discovery and the new trade roads made the Mediterranean trade less efficient, and slowly the Atlantic powers became much stronger and the Mediterranean power got bringer to collapse.

China was so powerful during the height of the Ming Dynasty that it left Europeans in shock and disbelief. This isn't a boast from the Chinese themselves, as their official historical records barely mention this period, but rather, it's well-documented by European accounts.

To unravel this story, we must first look at an empire that dominated the medieval world, a formidable power that loomed over Europe like a chilling sword - the Byzantine Empire. This empire, known as the Ottoman Empire, was named after its founder, Osman I.

In the 14th century, the Ottomans conquered Serbia and came knocking at the gates of Constantinople, the capital of the Eastern Roman Empire. They engaged in multiple wars with European Christian nations, emerging victorious in most of them.

In 1396, a major battle took place, known as the Battle of Nicopolis, which was fought in Hungary. This conflict involved a coalition of several European countries, resulting in substantial casualties, but the Ottomans emerged as the victors. The coalition included the Kingdom of Hungary, the Kingdom of France, the Knights Hospitaller, the Venetian Republic, and various other European troops and organizations. It was a massive campaign.

The Ottoman Empire expanded its territory across Europe, Asia, and Africa without restraint, and Europe watched helplessly, plunged into fear, with everyone concerned about their future. Even the Byzantine Emperor contemplated abandoning Constantinople and fleeing.

But six years after the Battle of Nicopolis, an astonishing miracle occurred in the East, beyond the Ottoman Empire's borders, in Central Asia. A new and mighty empire was born - the Timurid Empire, which struck fear into the very heart of the Ottoman Empire.

In July 1402, Timur, the founder of the Timurid dynasty, led an army of 150, 000 to invade the Ottoman Empire. They clashed in a decisive battle at Ankara, where the Ottomans were defeated, and their Emperor, Bayezid I, who was known as the "Thunderbolt, " was taken captive and died a year later.

Timur was born into a noble Turkic family in the Western Chagatai Khanate, one of the splinter states of the Mongol Empire. He eventually became the father-in-law of the Khan of the Western Chagatai Khanate and later seized the throne himself, establishing the Timurid Empire, similar to how Sui Wendi, Emperor of the Sui Dynasty, rose to power.

This unexpected turn of events indirectly saved Europe, especially the Byzantine Empire. When the Europeans learned of the existence and astonishing power of the Timurid Empire, they considered it the best hope for a united front against the Ottoman Empire, their nightmare.

Many European countries began sending diplomats to the Timurid Empire, hoping to establish friendly relations. One of the most famous diplomats was Ruy González de Clavijo, a Spanish diplomat.

Ruy González de Clavijo, a Spanish court minister, diplomat, traveler, and writer, was sent as an envoy to the Timurid Empire in the early 15th century, in May 1403. He visited Samarkand, where he and his team were treated well by Timur. In 1404, a group of diplomats arrived from the East, from an "unknown" place, with different appearances and attire.

These envoys appeared at Timur's court banquet and questioned him about the unpaid tributes from the Chinese Empire, demanding that he pay all outstanding tributes promptly. Their tone was very assertive.

This scene shocked the European diplomats who were present at Timur's banquet. Who were these envoys? Where did they come from? Who sent them? Why were they here? Clavijo was completely stunned.

He thought, "We, the united European forces, were easily defeated by the Ottoman Empire, yet Timurid Empire, which struck fear into the Ottoman Empire, is actually a vassal of another empire. Besides Marco Polo's accounts, I know nothing about this powerful empire."

Clavijo later learned that these envoys came from the Ming Dynasty of China. Through discussions, they discovered China's astonishing might, completely shattering their worldview. They realized that the Timurid Empire, which had humbled the European nightmare, was merely a tributary state of the Chinese Ming Dynasty.

The cause of this situation was that, in 1396, Timur decided to launch his second Western campaign, which led to the capture of all foreign diplomats, thus cutting off diplomatic relations with the Chinese Empire. This continued for seven years, leading the Chinese Emperor to send diplomats to Samarkand to demand the outstanding tributes. Timur's refusal hinted at a potential invasion of China. However, the following year, Timur unexpectedly died from an illness.

After Timur's death, the Timurid Empire quickly fell into chaos, and Clavijo and other European diplomats left Samarkand. The new Timurid Emperor, Shahrukh, reestablished tribute relations with China, submitting tribute and recognizing China's superiority.

According to Clavijo's account, Timur initially refused to comply with the envoy's demands and stated that he would personally bring the unpaid tributes of seven years to China

Not forget the discovery of Vasco Da Gama new route to India and also the Suez Canal which reduces Europe dependent on Ottoman for spices and silk trade. These reduces the trade volume of the empire

most important reason why Ottoman Empire collapsed:-

1) Industrial revolution and WW1

The biggest reason is also because most countries inside the Empire wanted independence.

The other reason is Ottomans never plundered or assimilated (Except sending Turkmens to Balkans. They were coming from asia to escape from Mongolians) people or territory they won, Ottomans even didn't get tax for a few month in the region they got, everything was good until French Revolution happened, and they all invaded by European colonisers or Revolt for Independence by getting help from Western countries especially Russian Empire to weaken Ottoman Empire.

Reasons for the collapse of the Ottoman Empire:

1) Industrial revolution in europe which led to increase of food production + the making of the modernized weapons they used against the ottomans
2) West Europe armed Ukraine and Russia from the north to crack down on the Ottomans as well as they played a huge role supporting ( Persian empire/ Kajarit Empire) from the east against the ottomans

3) countries like Spain and U.K changed the world's trade sea routes between Asia and Europe by going passing through south Africa instead of the Mediterranean sea which led to the decline of the trades.
4) the ottoman empire was the reason behind the decline and the fall of the west roman empire but that led to the raise of the Nationalists in europe which eventually spreaded to the Ottoman territory where people felt that they should be ruled by nationality rather than religion

summary : decline in trades, too much debt, raise of nationalism, wars with russia are the real reason

You forgot a very important factor, the rise of nationalism. First the Greeks in 1821, then the other Balkan Christians in the Russo-Turkish (1877-1879) and Balkan (1912-13) Wars, and finally the Arabs in the first World War. The Armenians, Greeks and Kurds of Anatolia tried to make their own states as well, but the Ottomans pulled a last minute hail Mary (genocide and independence war) and managed to preserve Anatolia as modern Turkey

It was actually because of the treaty of Versailles 1919
