The reaction to this video is amazing.

Thank you all so much for the support and engagement. New video on the weird, ever growing size of Car Grilles coming soon!

People hate and shit on affordable cars so much and cry when they actually disappear. I've only heard negative things regarding the Mitsubishi G4/Mirage and the Nissan Versa and they're one of the last affordable cars on the market

Used car prices are over inflated as well.

It's the automakers 100%. Cheap cars are low margin. They'd much rather sell you a fully decked out SUV for $80k rather than a $20k compact all day. There's no money in cheap cars has nothing to do with demand.

Gotta keep in mind the rate of inflation. $20, 000 in 2010 is equivalent to $28, 000 in 2024. The problem isnt car prices, its inadequate wages

They need to add "poverty spec" where it has no screens, analog gauges, seats, and hell, id even say roll up windows.

It would sell like hot cakes in todays market

If you want a cheaper car just buy one that is a couple years old. Most cars coming out of lease agreements are in quite good shape. It's ridiculous to buy a new car with all the added fees that are attached to that unless you want to show everyone how much money you have

Dude, here in Central-Eastern Europe, the list price of a new basic Camry is 45800 USD, gross (51000 USD for the mid spec). Plus maybe another 1000 USD for the paperwork and additional tax atop of VAT. 31000 USD for mid spec would be a pretty reasonable price even here, regardless the fact that the net median monthly wage is exactly 1000 USD.

The supra has gone down in price, being $40k in 1993-2002 which is roughly 69-87k today.

Cheap cars still exist they just don't sell them in the US cause most of them will definitely not pass crash test regulations in the US or just regulations in itself

Civic Type R went up almost double in price between gen 10 and 11 and it's exactly the same car

A 1992 Toyota Supra turbo was $41k CAD. A 1993 Toyota Supra Turbo was $60k CAD

That’s why I love my 2012 Mazda 3 skyactiv. No sensors, no screens and no extras in between it just has a little old school clock display that says zoom-zoom when starting the car and it’s always smiling

A large reason for this can be found at the buyers themselves. A car without AC? This has to be standard. A car without big screen to not only listen, but watch the radio? Ehm, nope. Electric seat adjustment, automatic tailgate, auto-dimming, follow-me-home-lights? Well, I take it! This all led to the prices we now have, and further to horrendous repair costs for all the sensors in the front bumper when having a minor accident. So what's the whining all about?

3:11 funny thing is the same automakers have said that screens are cheaper than gauges and buttons.

Subprime mortgages are now called car loans. My first car loan was 7% interest on 48 months, that was a bad loan in 2008
