Seal Rescued From Fishing Line
Показать описание
OCN rescuers Denzil, Hawain and Antoine capture a female seal with a loop of fishing line around her neck. It is not surprising that marine animals get caught in fishing lines because they are found all over the oceans. Fishing lines are often left behind by commercial or recreational fishermen, or they are lost from boats. These lines can float in the water and are designed to be difficult for animals to see. Many seals get tangled in them without realizing it, until the line starts cutting them, or they mistake the lines for food or plants. The result is always the same: immense suffering, and in most cases, death. If you consume seafood, you might be contributing to this issue.
