Seal RESCUED from Fishing Line

Big day for our new non-profit organization Ocean Conservation Namibia (OCN) - we launched our #100SealsForTime campaign at Pelican Point in Namibia, and we caught our first entangled seal. In May 2020, Naude and Antoine will attempt to catch and free 100 seals from entanglement.
Namibia has a thriving fishing industry, often leading to fishing related ocean rubbish and plastic pollution, typical symptoms of climate change and a lack of sustainability. As a result, our local seals often get stuck in ocean debris and they cannot free themselves.
Our team of volunteer activists has mastered the art of catching entangled seals either by hand or by net, and to cut them free with their Leatherman. 🦭

There I was sun bathing with 100 others when these two guys come out of nowhere and for no reason pick me out of the group, hold me down and mug me. Got my necklace before I could escape. But the joke is on them. I didn't want it anyway. Great job guys ;o)
