I'm tired of feeling uncomfortable with my body looking into the mirror disgusts me, going to public places and thinking everyone is judging me for my weight, not having the confidence to find someone to be in a relationship.
Update: I've lost 70 pounds since this post and feel much better about myself but still feel the way I did about myself just more happier, and I have more weight to lose which keeps me motivated :)

Lost 70 pounds and recompositioned my body with healthy eating and resistance training. My number 1 takeaway? Uncouple ‘motivation’ from the process.
Decide that healthy eating habits and workouts are just part of life like brushing your teeth or getting out of bed.
Just decide that it’s now part of life, and non-negotiable.
My workout days are happening no matter how I feel about them.
And healthy eating, it’s now part of life, a lifestyle.

For me, it’s not really because I lose motivation that I stop. It’s like I have to keep doing it every day, and if I miss a workout or eat a bad meal, i feel like all my work is useless, so I might as well stop trying. So one bad day turns into a bad week, month, or year. I don’t know why I’m like this.

I started eating better in February. I decided that I wasn't going on a diet and instead trained my brain to crave healthier options without feeling restricted. If I feel like eating pizza, I eat it and move on. No guilt, no "falling off the wagon" mentality. This has really worked for me! I've lost 60 lbs! Also, I have cooked so many of your incredible recipes and you taught me that I can make small modifications to recipes to make them healthy without sacrificing flavor. Thanks Dani!

This video is pure. My aha moment : motivation is a feeling based on a thought and "if we all sitting around waiting to be motivated then we wouldn't be really getting anywhere ".

Shortness of breath, and a hard time walking is helping me to lose weight. Both are ugly feelings, and I don't want to know what is next if I gain more. Stay positive is the message.

It’s so DIFFICULT to motivate myself WHEN food is SO GOOD! 🥺 I currently weight about 160, height5’2..😂 BEFORE the COVID-19 occurred.. I weight about 135.. and I gained so much.. and I wanna FEEL better and NORMAL again😭I don’t want to have future health problems later in life, after what my doctor had told me🙇🏻‍♀️ I really needed to hear this.. Thank you so much for this! After watching you and others, I actually have the feeling of being motivated! Lost 60 pounds and hit a plateau. Been the same weight for 4 months now ugh. Thank you for this, I’m trying to get back on track to get to my goal weight. 30 more pounds to go!

When I was going through this, I remember speaking with my weight loss specialist about trying to get used to no sugar in my coffee and he said to me completely normal, must persevere as it takes 3 weeks to break a habit and 3 months to create a new one, if you can force yourself to stick it out it will become second nature. He was right, 8 years later and I can’t even begin to think about adding sugar to my coffee now., so you are absolutely right, there is no motivation and the beginning, just determination to get past first hurdle!

This video was much needed. Love the info:
- I almost invite you not to expect motivation at the beginning.
- Don't require motivation as a means to get you into action.
- Be willing to take action when you're not motivated.
- If we all sit around waiting to be motivated it's very unlikely we are going to make progress. Because motivation is hard to maintain when we are doing something new and different.
- Create a plan, commit, get motivated by your results.

I used to be 64 kg but because of lockdown and alot of stuff happend I became 89 kg, now I am motivated to reclaim my old self.

People need to understand that there is no perfect day for doing something. If you say you start tomorrow then you´re already doing it wrong, you gotta start right this moment or nothing will ever happen. I am not overweight but I was totally not in the mood for a workout today morning, but before even searching for motivation I just started without thinking about it for too long.
