Charles Martel - The Hammer - The Battle of Tours

This time we go back in time into the Dark Ages in Western Europe and we see the real face of Charles Martel also known as "The Hammer" (from the Old French, Martel) who was the illegitimate son of the Frankish statesman Pepin of Herstal. Charles Martel won a victory for the Frankish forces against an Umayyad invasion of Aquitaine at the Battle of Tours (October 10, 732 AD). This victory halted the Islamic conquests, and preserved Christianity as the main faith in Europe.

Thanks to adroit tactics, Greek Fire, the defection of the Ummayyad's Christian troops, and the eruption of Santorini, Leo also preserved Christianity and freedom for generations. If not for his victory destroying so much of the Ummayyad's resources, France might have been attacked in far greater numbers, and much sooner while Frankish territories were still unstable.

When Charles Martel ruled as Mayor of the Palace during the reign of Theudorich IV, the Merovingian King of the Franks from 13 February 721 to 16 March or 30 April 737. Theudorich IV died in 737, Charles Martel became the regent during the Interregnum in 737 to Charles Martel's death in 741. Later, Theudorich IV's son Childeric III, the last Merovingian King of the Franks who was deposed by Pope Zachary or was overthrown by Pippin the Short, who ruled as Mayor of the Palace after the death of his father Charles Martel, later he became the first Carolingian King of the Franks in 751, he was crowned twice by Boniface, the Archbishop of Mainz and Pope Stephen II. Maybe I have big wishes to look Pope Stephen II's and, the Archbishop of Mainz Boniface's faces. Or Theudorich IV's and his son Childeric III's faces..
