Testing Your Gas Grill for a Leak

I did this test. There is no leak! But it still doesn't work only two months after I purchased it! Lowe's---where I purchased it---said it isn't their problem; they said to go to Char-Broil. I've done that. It still doesn't work. Should I just assume that I'm stuck with a hunk of junk in my backyard that I paid a lot of money for?

I turn the tank on and I have a leak right where the valve goes into the tank. Is there a way to replace that myself?
