Yeah... like I'm going to take advice from the guy who says "With the gas turned on" while he is turning OFF the gas.

Don't follow this guys instructions, first he turn the gas valve to the off position so how can you test for gas leaks when the gas is turn off? Secondly he had the channel locks in the wrong directions thereby making it easier to strip the fittings.
