LET’S CONNECT

Video Transcript:
Will be populated once BFLP tanks are completely safe, but we all need to take proper and necessary precautions when installing and using LP gas. Safe and effective operation of an LP gas grill requires a correct and secure connection between the regulator and the tank valve. Prior to installing your LP tank, aim the tank valve at the sun, and take a good look at the rubber gasket inside the valve. A good gasket is perfectly round and intact. Sometimes, a tank valve gasket loses its original shape as shown in the picture. You also want to look for cracks or splits. A tank gasket that is out of round or has cracks, may leak LP gas. It is very important that you install the tank as described in your owner's manual. Installing the tank in a position other than what's shown in the owner's manual could put unnecessary stress on the valve regulator connection causing a leak. No tools necessary. Just hand tighten the black regulator knob using proper threading and engagement with the tank valve. With the tank installed, make sure all the grill knobs are in the off position. Turn on the LP tank. With the tank on, perform a soapy water test at the tank connection. If bubbles appear, there is a leak at the tank connection. Disconnect the tank. Recheck the gasket. Reinstall the tank, and retest with soapy water. If bubbles continue, replace the tank and try again. If there is still an issue with the second tank, contact Weber customer service. If you ever hear hissing or smell gas, that too is a sign of a leak. The tank and grill should be turned off and not used. Be sure to turn off the tank when done grilling.

Thanks. I'm currently watching this video from heaven.

They didn't tell you that you need to open the valve very slowly before pushing the ignition button. Opening it too fast can prevent it from igniting, in my experience. Perhaps Weber solved that problem. But it was true of my old Kenmore.

I unhooked the valve that goes to my weber Traveler & I stuck a nail in it til I heard the gas flow then I hooked it up & it started right up so it is an air issue. Some people say you need to turn the tank valve very slowly.

Can ypou tell me what that connector is called? I have been given a bottle with the same connection as yours but no one can tell me what the connector is called or where I can get one as I live in Ireland.

I hate that scale device. It is VERY difficult to reach into a cabinet grill and place the new tank correctly and get that scale slide in place to tighten. C'mon Weber, come up with an easier scale.

I've waited so long to hook mine up, then I watch this 3 min how to and feel pretty stupid!

You put the tank facing the wrong way. In the manual, this specific collar assembly should have the valve facing away from the scale.
