Special thanks to our Patreons for their support of the channel! What do you think of the Subaru Outback?

Some of us don't want a full digital dash display. Personally, I am very pleased and content with the traditional display in my 2024 WRX.

We just picked up a 24 Outback Touring XT, in Cosmic Blue and it’s great. It’s not exciting. But for us, it checks all the boxes. This is our 8th Subaru. I tried branching out and drove a Q5 Prestige, X3 M40i, XC60 Ultimate, V60 XC Ultimate, NX Luxury, 4R Limited, GX Premium Plus and a Forester Touring. For the money, this won hands down. We got about $4, 500 off MSRP and 1.9% for 48mo. Nothing else I drove comes close, dollar for dollar.

That they don't have a hybrid is definitely NOT a drawback

This is the Touring addition, which is the highest trim level! I have the Limited XT, which is a happy price medium and you get the same Turbo engine, suspension and leather interior and safety features. Lacks front view camera, rear view mirror camera, cooling seats, heated steering wheel, and electric fold down mirrors. It is a joy to drive and on long trips it gets you to where you are going relaxed, and feeling less fatigued! First Subaru and I’m incredibly impressed.

I HATE all the so called SAFETY BS--- it's TOO damn distracting and if a person can't drive their own vehicle safely- they have NO BUSINESS on the road... PERIOD!!! It's a crock-- in ALL vehicles- nothing against Subaru- but ALL vehicles have FAR too much tech BS!!!

It’s an awesome family car, especially the XT’s, it’s sleeper quick. Safe, roomy, drives great, good mpg.

On my 4th Subaru - it just works. Started with an 05 WRX wagon and now with an Outback Wilderness

I have a 2023 Touring edition and I love it! My dislikes are some cheap interior plastics and around the shifter. It scratches too easy. The resolution on the cameras are terrible. The backup camera on my 2017 STI & my 2021 Crosstrek were way better. Not sure why. Other than that, I love the look of the outback. Not boring at all. The comfort & drive is amazing and luxurious with the reassurance of knowing that I can get through snow or gravel with ease is peace of mind and why I’m on my 5th Subaru

The interior is great, the leather seats are super comfy and the amount space on the rear bench is way more than I expected it to be. You didn't mention the rear seats can be slightly adjusted which is amazing feat for long roadtrips. Boot space is also bigger than I thought it would be. I have a "boot testing kit" which consists of 2 removal boxes and 1 suitcase. I was able to put them in configurations no other estate/wagon was able to accomodate them.
I don't like the facelift though, I much prefer the last year model and the front bumper was better designed. That plastic finish most people complain about? It's a blessing in disguise when you go and do some offroading or live in rural area. Would you rather scratch and damage that plastic or a shiny and polished bumper?

Hello Wisconsin!
I love my 23 limited. Kinda wish i got the turbo, but 25 mpg was bad enough already. Wish they had a hybrid version... hopefully soon. It's not a beautiful car (although, the Dark Mahogany Pearl color i got is gorgeous), but it's very practical, capable, comfortable, quiet, and hopefully proves reliable. Seems to be a good value from base to limited/onyx. Beyond that, gets a bit expensive. Also, I think the physical gauges are elegant, and digital dashboards look a little too cartoony... happy with the gauge cluster.

I really enjoy my 2023 Outback Premium. At about $15k after trading in my Hyundai Sonata Limited with 35k miles it was a decent price. The only complaint is the 2.5L NA boxer engine accelerates on par with my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.5L NA engine. I really like the cloth seats and safety features, except I wish it came with RAB assist to stop me from backing into things (yes I have done it). My daughter bought a 2023 Limited CPO with 3500 miles and it's features are excellent with driver awareness, heated steering wheel, Leather Seats and a host of other options. She also traded in a 2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited on the CPO Outback. Before trade-in the list was $37, 500 and with a $7000 trade-in out the door was around $30, 500 which is lot lower than the original sticker of $41, 334. You just have to love the Outback. My recommendation is to extend the warranty before the 3year 36, , 000 mile warranty is up. Just shop around to cover the expensive electronics in the Outback!

I own a 2023 Outback Touring w/turbo. In general I really like the Outback vs the Forester Touring I traded in in order to get the turbo. Three things that really irritate me are 1. The gear shifter is in the way when trying to enter a destination into the GPS, 2. Same with the location of the plug-ins for your USB cables, and 3. Opening the storage space in the center is a pain and it's hard to see what's there. One thing I like that the 2021 Forester didn't have is easy access to the A button. It's right there on the dash and not hidden in the dark recesses under the dash. IMO my Outback handles better than the Forester too. I can handle the gas mileage so I'm basically a happy camper and will probably keep my Outback for several years.

I bought a 2023 like this (called Premier XT in Canada) in this colour but black Nappa leather interior. Had it a week and love it. Couple of gripes for me is NO rain sensing wipers, which is a big one. Another is the Canadian version doesn't have TPMS sensors, yet the American one does. Makes no sense. But the ride is excellent, along with the power. It's actually faster to 60mph than my Dodge Durango RT (5.7 Hemi) was, without the high fuel bill.

Fun Facts:

Subaru considers the Outback as the second largest vehicle it manufactures, right behind the Ascent

The review view mirror camera is so good, that Lexus uses it in its NX, thanks to the partnership between Subaru & Toyota 😉

10:38 I really like how they include cubbies in the dash, but Toyota includes a USB port which i would like to see Subaru do

I love my Outbacks, but can honestly say, I'm not going to buy another until Subaru tones down the cladding... It's just too much for my liking. I prefer simple, clean exterior lines
