Need to cut some plexiglass right now and it is thick around 1/4 inch and I need a nice straight edge. This seems like the easiest method. Rather than dulling my jigsaw and getting water or cutting oil all over the the place I'm going to try this method. As a matter of fact I'm going to go try it right now and I'll come back and tell you if it worked, BRB ... OK, Yes it works perfectly, very clean cut. I also found that scoring it on one side actually produces a cleaner cut than scoring on both sides. Also, follow this video advice about eye protection. Small sharp pieces of plexiglass tend to go everywhere and you don't one of them ending up in your eye.

My DIY idea to let my Cat come in and out of my sliding glass door from my apartment. I can buy a 20X16 piece Plexiglas for $2. Cut it into 4 strips and it'll be perfect, cheap, and easy.

I bought a brand new knife razor and it will not cut or even make a scratch in the plexiglass

Is not that easy. I followed the instructions to the t, and still needed to cut almost 30 times. Ended it smashing the side with a mallet.
