In this video, we’re going to talk about how to stay calm when you’re stressed and have high cortisol.

Cortisol and adrenaline are the primary stress hormones that your adrenal glands produce.

The adrenal glands have an outside and an inside. The inside part of the adrenals is made up of neurological tissue—this is the part that releases adrenaline. The outside is made up of glandular tissue—this is the part that releases cortisol.

Both of these hormones help adapt your body to stress. The more stress you experience, the more your adrenal glands are activated and release stress hormones.

Your body does not handle prolonged stress well; it’s meant to handle short bursts of stress, not chronic stress.

The sympathetic nervous system is the part of your nervous system that handles your fight-or-flight mode. Your parasympathetic nervous system is the part of your nervous system that handles rest and digest mode.

Stress isn’t always a bad thing—it’s what helps you progress and adapt to life. However, getting stuck in chronic stress can cause many issues throughout the body.

The effects of stress can include:
• Poor sleep
• High heart rate
• High blood pressure
• Arterial inflammation
• Cortisol resistance
• Lowers immune function and inactivates the natural killer T-cells
• Increased cancer risk
• Poor memory
• Brain fog
• Increased risk of nutrient deficiencies (K+, B1, H+)

How to stay calm:
1. Do physical work or exercise
2. Stay in action
3. Take vitamin B1, vitamin D, magnesium, and potassium
4. Get on a Healthy Keto and intermittent fasting plan
5. Take herbal adaptogens
6. Do breathing exercises
7. Try acupressure stress extraction techniques

5 things to quit for all people:

1. Caring about what others think
2. Not believing in yourself
3. Not prioritizing your health
4. Wasting your precious time
5. Chasing meaningless relationships

For those who are in the rush of changing their lives :-)

Overthinking is something that causes me stress. Something I've been following recently is "if it won't matter in 5 years, don't spend more than 5 minutes worrying about it"

Believe it or not I cleaned out 3 bedrooms got rid of a bunch of stuff and just finished painting my youngest daughter's room now that she has moved. I'm working on my kitchen and going through the garage. This has helped me so much. The rooms look empty but it has given me a feeling of control. I went through everything being organized has helped me feel better about the things I can't control and let God handle that part. Seeing all the clutter just made things worse.

The biggest cause of stress are other people. That's why I stay away from people and if I do deal with them, decide they're not worth the stress.

The first part to de-stressing/removing anxiety is to be kind to yourself. More often than not it’s the pressure we put on ourselves that’s causing the issue. Ask yourself, have you done everything that’s to be reasonably expected, if the answers yes then give yourself a break. Live in the present - be present. Give yourself permission to relax and actively choose the things you focus on, everything else is just noise. Sending good vibes to those that might need it.

I got really stressed out had sleeping problems because I am almost always indoors. I'm 19 don't know how to drive, no job, dealt with a loss at 16. What I have noticed, is that staying home is not good for me. I am also really deficient in vitamin D. I have decided to take control over my life and I do put a lot of pressure on my self. I will take it one day at a time. I will make plans with friends and laugh and I will grow up, which is something hard for me to do, but I know I can do it.

Great content about stress. We need to learn more about this. My father lived to 101 despite a lack of exercise or healthy diet. I think his secret was that he simply never stressed out about anything. He was an eternal optimist about every situation.

When I had GERD, heavy painful heartburn, nothing helped me much as gardening. I can say that gardening actually saved my life.

Yep, I'm gonna have to watch this twice. I spent decades stressed, depressed, and living with anxiety.
The last six months have felt like an absolute miracle, thanks to you, Dr. Berg! Not even kidding, not exaggerating!
This kind of info is better heard repeatedly, so I can remember why I never want to fall back into old habits!

Dr. Berg is Truly a gift from the creator. A blind person can see that. What he has done for my family is simply too much to express with words. Two entire decades of hair loss, adrenal, thyroid and thymus issues corrected within months, to say thankyou is merely a understatement. Berg is The Man…Shalom 🙏🏿.

This is very important...need of the hour...the best thing to de-stress is shift the focus to some activity you love...next thing is to help others in anyway you can...this may sound silly but trust me this helps. Take care😊

Try gardening. It is one of the best things to do to relax. I am a retired Landscape Designer and I was hands on with my crew! It is truly addictive in a positive way.

Some people can't understand some people's stress isn't a choice...it's a REAL SURVIVAL under the worst circumstances...can't "switch" that off...ever 😡👎

As I lay here awake in the middle of the night worrying about a concerning looking mole I recently discovered on my back; thank you for your wisdom, your insight, and your calm guidance. I will say a prayer, get some deep restorative sleep, and make an appt with a dermatologist tomorrow rather than continue to worry. I needed to hear this. Many blessings to all 💕
